Job Description

Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL.RESPONSIBILITIESWe are looking for an enthusiastic ECAD Librarian to join Ciena global library team to develop and maintain schematic symbols and PCB layout footprints for new and existing physical/electrical components:

  • This is an entry level position at Gurgaon-India location only
  • Develop new schematic or custom symbols in Cadence Concept HDL and Part Developer - pin counts varying from small components to large ball count FPGAs and ASICs
  • Develop Allegro footprints for new electrical components and mechanical piece parts directly from component datasheet specifications according to Ciena standards
  • Create surface-mount and through hole padstacks as well as custom padstacks for back-drill/press-fit connector pin holes
  • Code parts in accordance with the Ciena part creation, approval, and release processes
  • Work with design engineers to get clarifications on new components, datasheet specifications, request missing specification from component suppliers
  • Work and collaborate with other team members on managing the work queue and addressing priority requests.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to update existing footprints to meet evolving new technologies and new requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Skill in interpreting datasheets, able to research and extract pertinent information for symbols and footprints
  • Understanding of the footprint for PCB layout guidelines and IPC standard
  • Knowledge of the PCB manufacturability and assembly process is an asset
  • Ability to adapt to change to work well in fast paced environment, flexible and ready to work with design teams from India and North America
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and responsive
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and well organized.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, works effectively with others in a multi-disciplinary team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-5 years of work experience as librarian
  • 1-2 years of work experience with the Cadence Part Developer, symbol and padstack editor, plus the Cadence library EDM environment
  • Familiar with IPC naming conventions for footprints and IPC footprint calculator
  • CAD/CAM experience
EDUCATION:
  • Graduate with B.Tech in Electrical/Electronic communication Diploma program.
