Job Description

About IP Optical NetworksOur IP/Optical Networks business group (ION) includes IP, optical and network automation technologies and related services sold to our communication service provider customers as well as adjacent markets including webscale companies and enterprises. Our comprehensive wide area networking (WAN) solutions enable our customers to build and operate automated, secure, and high-performance networks at massive scale helping to interconnect people and things from any broadband access modality to and among - edge clouds, central clouds, the Internet, and other services and data centers.The Customer Technical Advocate (CTA) position is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) acting as a local point of contact in support of the customers network and operation. The person will work closely with the various customer organizations to support the customers network, equipment, and operations. The candidate must have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.A candidate who thrives in an unstructured and high-pressure environment will find many opportunities to add value and develop strong relationships with customers through their technical expertise. A strong background in IP Routing products is required.Job Responsibilities & Competencies:Network and Operation Support

  1. Proactively and aggressively evaluate the customer s network to provide improved network reliability
  2. Review network operation for improvement and optimization for new programs and high-risk activities
  3. Proactively review Nokia Product Alerts, Notices and PCNs for possible impact to the customer s network and act if necessary
  4. Represent Nokia at customer quality and operations meeting pertaining to Nokia equipment.
  5. Ticket trending and identification of potential quality issues
  6. Chronic issues investigation leadership
  7. Coordinate significant network activities related to supported Nokia equipment.
  8. Provide technical product information
Problem Management
  1. Act as technical liaison between customer and Nokia
  2. Assist the Nokia s TAC/TEC in diagnostic activities remotely or locally
  3. Provide technical and process leadership helping the customer personnel identify technical and procedural issues that may arise during the support operations, integration and network roll-out activities.
  4. Advocate for the customer during outages.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
  • Industrial experience and in-depth knowledge with the following technologies:
  1. IP/MPLS
  2. Routing Protocols
  3. L2 and L3 VPN Services
  4. Multicast Services
  • Well organized and excellent follow through
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of Nokia Routing platforms 7750 SR, 7250 IXR, 7210 SAS, 7705 SAR is an advantage
  • CCIE, JNCIE, Nokia NRS-2 or equivalent certifications would be desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and process management
  • Good persuasive and negotiating abilities
  • Accomplished interpersonal skills
