The role understands the wider impacts of the components and their underlying design. This role provides the technical direction for an individual design e.g. individual story. These will be a self-contained piece of work, with no ambiguity, as an E2E design fits within a larger change/scope. The role holder will produce an E2E design, and is not expected to be resolving debates as the work is straightforward.The role holder needs to understand the impact of scope changes provided by the requirement owner to determine the material impact (mostly this doesn t change the size of the development) and where it does need to flag to Senior Solution Designer.Define and own functional and non-functional solution design for Supply Chain Systems within the Platform.Deliver solution designs that drive the exploitation of systems (and underlying technologies for those systems) to deliver business benefit aligned to business demand and acceptance criteria.The role will also support the Lead Solution Designer with other strategic projects in the Supply chain Systems estate as required.Represent the solution design subject matter expertise for the Platform.Direct solution design resource (BT and third party) in accordance with architectural strategy.Own the Quality Assurance of solution design implementation.Authority and decision-making responsibility for solution design recommendations and for recommending solution approaches to the E2E Solution Designer.Maintain and develop relevant product technology expertise for the SCM functional area within the PlatformYoull have the following responsibilitiesThe role holder is responsible for providing solution design expertise for Supply Chain Solutions (Inv & Order Mgt / Transport Mgt etc) within the Enterprise Management Platform.Key Responsibilities are:Ensuring E2E non-functions are accounted for in the design of solutions (component (including manageability, support, volumetric & security aspects)Conform to standard solution approaches.Participate in e2e design calls/meetings to ensure that overall solution works and appropriately satisfies stakeholder requirementsWill work across two or three components within an area, e.g. will work in the order entry space, expert in pricing or bill calculations.When a new product is introduced you will plan the changes to the design in their area would beWork on multiple stories in a release e.g. work on billing element within a release / service monitoring or other domainsChallenging requirements if they are not clear.Review detailed STORM stories to understand the requirements that need to be met in the designKey Decisions made by this Role:Modifications to the design in the sub domain area within the release or outside of the release. (to the individual releases/stories)Determine and resolve E2E issues which impact components.Recommend the removal or addition of components for the releases that they are work on.Measures of Success:Design for their area fits within the overall design.ReusableMinimal design defects.Produces simple solutions that are right first time. Producing solutions that are the right cost, to maximise business benefit.Work out the solution, with the business lead and CIO lead to determine best fit solution e.g. requirements owner at higher level of detail and lower level of scope.Youll have the following skills & experienceFunctional / Techno Functional Knowledge of Below Supply Chain Modules. A combination among below areas should suffice the need.Inventory Mgt.Order Mgt. (OM, BOM, Inv. Catalogue & Inv Master)Procurement (Purchasing, AP, PM, VM etc)Supply Chain Planning (Forecasting, DRP etc)Warehouse Mgt.Transport Mgt.Working Experience on Supply Chain ERP Products e.g. SAP S4 Hana or Oracle EBS will be considered as Good to have .Experience on RDBMS (Oracle 10g, 11g or above)Experience of Supply Chain Transformation / Implementation Projects will be considered as Good to have .Business Analysis, Solution Design Data Analytics, Solution Development, Design Visualization, Benchmarking are the key skills required.Shares expertise with colleagues and others.Is a lead contributor individually and as a team member.Applies knowledge/skills through handling complex problems and/or co-ordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise.Anticipates internal/external business issues and developments in own discipline.Anticipates patterns and links, looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications.Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems.Develops plans for work activities in own area over the medium/long term.Explains/presents highly complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and prepares case accordingly.Has a comprehensive understanding of professional communities relevant to the LOB and uses the PC development framework to maximise the potential of themselves, their team and the wider BT team.BenefitsAbout BTBT has a key role in British society, fostering change and leading technology innovation.
