Cienas Packet Routing and Switching business plays an instrumental role in our strategy and is bringing products and solutions to market that win with the pillars of speed service delivery, agility, and assurance.DIMENSION & SCOPE:With large customer base and proven capabilities - Cienas Routing and Switching software team is focusing on design/development of Next generation Routing/Aggregation Platforms with enhanced Routing and MPLS capabilities to take advantage of worldwide market opportunities as Service Providers, Enterprises and Data-centers virtualize their networks, unify their legacy networks and prepare for 5G.Were looking for a motivated and talented engineering Student who can contribute to the team in designing, developing and testing software. You will be working and contributing to innovative packet solutions with a great exposure of interacting with a highly talented team working on cutting edge technologies like Netconf/Yang, gNMI, Management and Security Protocols, SNMP and other software infrastructure related components (Alarm/Event/Syslog).PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with coding and testing of Software.Capture data during Software Characterization, post-analysis and presentation.Automation of software test cases and hands-on testing of features using CLI, GUI, and/or python scripting.Identifying issues and driving resolution while working with other team members.Providing feedback on design and helping to drive improvements of the software.DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Self-motivated, organized, able to work under guidance as well as independently.Some coding experience (preferably with C and/or Python).Some experience or knowledge of packet networking is a bonus.Working knowledge of MS Office tool suite (Word, Excel, power point), and working with large data sets (sorting, filtering, graphing).Good verbal and written communication skills.At Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
