IT Solution Architect

Drive business alignment to ensure the technical integrity, system quality, and fitness for purpose of IT solutions are in support of the business goals.

Create the overall architecture and high-level design for a specific solution/project ensuring smooth solution delivery.

Work with Global BA Leads /consultants, IT security and design teams to develop requirements for systems that cross multiple subject areas.

Initiate and lead business and technical discussions with appropriate stakeholders, analyze requirements and design, present and champion solutions that meet those requirements.

Initiate discussions with third parties, perform in-depth reviews and analysis of their solutions, document architecture models and make recommendations for adopting or partnering.

Identify, create and maintain appropriate solution architecture artifacts throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Oversee architecture governance - Identify and escalate issues, gaps or misalignments in the enterprise architecture.

Identify, create, extend and maintain reusable architectural patterns to facilitate development of future solutions.

Actively contribute to development of Averys enterprise architecture framework, including definition of architecture processes, deployment of architecture tools and standardization of architecture information.

Monitor and analyze industry trends and best practices and help define and implement standards and principles that drive architecture within the Materials Group organization.

Contribute to development of a multi-year technology roadmap in support of the business capability needs.

Work closely with Global BA Leads to understand the big picture and contribute to product enrichment and technology relevance

Lead and mentor inhouse technical teams, as relevant

Bachelor s or Master s Degree with a Major in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent).

12-15 yrs of IT SDLC development experience, preferably in Microsoft and Oracle technologies.

Must have in-depth knowledge and expertise on software architectural aspects such as Application architecture, middleware, data architecture, integration architecture, network design, servers and storage, or database management.

Must have experience in analyzing software architecture and design aspects and identifying improvement opportunities.

Exposure to latest technological trends such as Cloud, automation, Industry 4.0

Demonstrated experience of working directly and successfully with various business functions and stakeholders.

Experience in creating solution and architecture documentation is a must.

Strong understanding of SDLC and Project Management methodologies.

Experience with Java and Oracle technology stacks, SOAP, XML messaging and web services, Websphere Message Broker, MQ Series, or related integration components will be preferred.

Experience with implementation and/or analysis of ERP systems will be preferred.

Experience with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce.com), B2B portal technology (e.g. CloudCraze, WCS) , EDI will be preferred.

Experience in the manufacturing industry is an advantage.

Flexible for short term travel to various locations

This job needs the incumbent to have a flexible approach towards working hours. Working hours can be across global time zones, and this will be communicated by the manager basis the project assigned. It is understood by the incumbent that after she/ he joins Avery Dennison in the IT function, they must be available for oncall support basis project requirement, for emergencies and/or any scheduled activities on the project assigned to you.
