Job Description

    About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe Central Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal etc.Purpose of your roleThe Business Analyst plays a key role in delivering technology solutions within Fidelity. This position is for an experienced Business Analyst to work in the General Counsel (GC) Portfolio.The role will be responsible for liaising with the Senior Business Stakeholders from Risk, Compliance and other areas of the GC function to define and capture requirements, liaise with technical staff and assist in user testing where necessary.Key Responsibilities
    • Work with the business/product owner to understand the business processes and document the data generated & reporting/analytics requirements.
    • Identify any gaps in the data warehouse/lake to meet the reporting/analytics requirements.
    • Prepare professional Business Analysis documentation to capture user requirements & acceptance criteria.
    • Work with the data modeller to produce data mapping documentation from source to the target logical data model or conceptual data model. Where necessary re-engineer the data sources, transformations, business rules and mappings from manual spreadsheet or 3rd party JSON formats.
    • Perform analysis to assess the meaning and quality of data and to define the approach for processing and cleaning data.
    • Maintain the FIL data dictionaries and catalogues.
    • Assist the project manager in sprint activities such as sprint planning, estimation sessions and running daily calls.
    Experience and Qualifications
    • At least 7 years of Business Analysis Experience, 5 of which should be as a Data focussed Business Analyst
    • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written with the ability to communicate in a concise fashion.
    • Proven track record of having strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high focus on your customers.
    • Experience of working with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Zephyr.
    • Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
    • Experience in working with data volumes and data reconciliation activities
    • Good knowledge of Database & Reporting technologies/systems like Oracle, Hyperion etc.
    • Good knowledge of PL/SQL for data querying & analysis will be an added advantage
    • Good knowledge and hands-on experience in Reporting and BI tools
    • Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development)
    • Should be aware of AGILE terminologies and have knowledge of tools like JIRA, Confluence etc.
    • Exposure to MS Office products like Visio and Excel

    • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally to arrive at a solution
    • Must have an eye for detail and analyse/relate to the business problem in hand
    • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
    • Ability to develop & maintain good relationships with all business and systems stakeholders
    • Strong hands-on experience in Requirement gathering, Documentation and UAT support
    • Strong customer awareness with ability to manage customer expectations
    • Flexible and positive attitude, openness to change
    • Self-motivation is essential, should demonstrate commitment to high quality solution
    • Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment.
    • Ability to discuss both business and related technology/system at various levels
