Job Description

    Manage a small team of Finance Data Analysts and provide SME guidance to build solutions to complex problems. Perform managerial responsibilities for the assigned team members and help them motivate & develop progressively. Manage multiple stakeholders across global locations to address their queries promptly and provide ad-hoc support to month / quarter close activities. Maintain strong and regular communication with all stakeholders (both written and verbal) and manage expectations. Build a solid understanding of the financial data flow and source to ledger mappings (underwriting source system to the Financial Ledger) and be the 1st line of support for any issues. Develop expertise on multiple data sources, learn data structure, tables, fields etc., and extract required data using SQL queries. Take ownership of reviewing the balances and control reports, analyze variances and work with the relevant stakeholders to resolve irregularities including preparing of the rectification journals. Participate in change assessment meetings and work with the team & line manager to prepare an action plan and ensure timely implementation of identified defects/changes. Act urgently to attend any critical issues in the process / financial data and work with the relevant stakeholders to restore normality. Perform impact assessment to any changes in the process or data flow and work through implementation. Review the existing processes / activities and develop additional controls for smooth operations. Have an open mindset to learn and adopt changes quickly.Work on Finance/other projects and manage expectations and a timely delivery of all assigned activities / work-areas., *We re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Financial Accounting, Data Reporting and Analytical skills; CA with 6-8 years or MBA (Fin) with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in FP&A or Financial statement analysis with good accounting knowledge. Ability to extract, analyse and interpret large & complex data from multiple systems / tools. Good knowledge of Insurance / Reinsurance techincal accounting preferably obtained through experience at an insurance company. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate promptly with a large group of people across different countries. Good team player and ability to work independenttly in a fast paced environment, prioritize and adapt to changing requirements. Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail, logical thinking and carry a positive attitude to develop solutions quickly. Strong customer focus and result oriented individual. Willing to learn and spend time exploring and improving. Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Power Pivots, and Data Analysis Cubes (SQL is added an advantage). Should have managed a team in a cross-location process.
