About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionOur Global Workplace Investing (GWI) channel delivers investment management services to our corporate pension plan sponsors and their employees. We will deliver market leading, scalable services by leveraging our global capabilities and tailoring these to meet local client and employee needsPurpose of your roleThe GWI Operations Platform Development team is responsible for coordinating launch readiness, new process design and management, and stakeholder communication of all initiatives impacting the Global WI Operations frontline and back office teams. The objective of this role is to provide the best possible service to our customers by taking ownership various initiatives and project tasks for the department by virtue of having in-depth knowledge of all related aspects of the process within the business area, an individual in this role as Process lead should be able to define and support customer centric solutions as well as take a lead in multiple forums. The role demands individual to review processes and build best practices across department for day to day operations.Key ResponsibilitiesThe objective of this role is to provide the best possible service to our customers by taking ownership various initiatives and project tasks for the department by virtue of having in-depth knowledge of all related aspects of the process within the business area, an individual in this role as Lead/Assistant Manager should be able to define and support customer centric solutions as well as take a lead in multiple forums on change the business. The role demands individual to review processes and represent operations in the Platform Development Programme.The immediate focus for this role will be supporting Programme initiatives which focus on, looking at bringing together data we hold on customers across Fidelity. The opportunity is improving customer & client experience, including the ability to offer a full suite of services & solutions.

  • Act as an SME for various initiatives as we continue to enhance our member and client offering
  • Analytical Mindset
  • Basic Query writing to design rules in basic algorithmic / mathematical format.
  • Preferred knowledge on IAuthor Tool or any other rule based application.
  • Basics of Project versioning and deployment planning
  • Support agenda for delivering change
  • Understand potential dependencies of both global and local nature
  • Establish and maintain necessary relationships within a highly matrixed global organization
  • Ensure appropriate customer research and feedback is conducted to support backlog prioritization
  • Individual understands, articulates and implements best practices related to their process/tasks
  • Review process issues and provide appropriate recommendation which leads to scalable and practical solutions that can be integrated with the current practices and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing processes & procedures
  • Can perform and co-ordinate the entire suite of testing for product releases and system enhancements
  • Develop a complete understanding of all regulatory/risk/controls aspect of the department
  • Communicate effectively across all levels across locations
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Broad experience working as an SME in UK Pensions
  • Successful record of leading process changes and initiatives
  • Comfortable to work in a heavily matrixed environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of customer needs within the medium to long term savings market
  • Forward thinking / innovative and hands on
  • Strong focus on delivery
  • Able to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels of seniority
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to multi task effectively, plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Experience in working with data from several different sources simultaneously.
  • Happy to use initiative and make suggestions to improve current processes.
  • Good overall knowledge and willingness to learn and become proficient in numerous applications used within FIL
