Job Description

    *The Jacobs Returnship program has been designed for talented professionals looking to REFRESH SKILLS, REBUILD CONFIDENCE and REIGNITE CAREERS after an extended career break and absence from the workforce. This is paid, 16-week initiative with intent to transition our returners to permanent placement. As diverse as our business is, as are the opportunities we have available. Our cohort of Returnship participants will join multidisciplinary teams across a variety of divisions. Your Focus: You are a motivated and experienced Road Design Engineer who can utilise your strong technical and project management skills to deliver highways-related infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for assistingwith design tasks to support infrastructure highways engineering activities. Including planning, design phases of development projects of urban, rural roadways, expressway and freeways schemes. As a participant, you will:
    • Experience 16 weeks of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
    • Access the vast network of resources at Jacobs through continual leadership development, support and mentorship from our dedicated Returnship program team
    • Be confident that you will receive ongoing support and mentorship and support as you navigate the transition with us to permanent employment
    • Be a part of our Returnship cohort community participating in regular focus group feedback session and social events to facilitate a seamless transition as you return to the workforce

    • You will have a degree (or higher), BE Degree in Civil Engineering /Post-Graduation in Transportation/Highway Engineering
    • You have at least five years of relevant post graduate professional experience in highway engineering design
    • Experience with Civil 3D or Open Road Designer/Inroads and AutoCAD or MicroStation
    • You have had a career break of at least 1 year
    • You are interested in returning to work on a permanent basis (both part time and full-time options available)
    • You are driven and thrive in a collaborative team
    • You are available to start the Returnship program in April 2023
