Job Description

    Job summaryWe are part of the India & Emerging Consumer Tech org. We build unique and interesting Amazon-first innovations in the domains of marketplace trust, seller experience, performance & success, abuse prevention, fulfilment (amazon fulfilled, seller fulfilled and seller delivered), global trade, supply chain and transportation. Over the last 5 years, we have been on a mission to transform the way India buys and sells, thereby transforming lives . In the process, we have realized that we as a team are uniquely positioned to help Amazon reach the next billion customers on earth, as we work backwards from the biggest set of emerging customers and take those innovations to all Amazon marketplaces worldwide. The mission of the Seller & Fulfillment Tech org is to build tech solutions that empower sellers to delight the next billion customers . This position is to lead IN Abuse Prevention Program. This program is to reduce cost of business waste (CBW) by detecting and preventing Abuse on Marketplace. This program is jointly owned by India Machine Learning (IML) Team and IN Abuse Prevention (INAP) Tech Team. Mission: We own programs to prevent abuse for IN marketplace. Vision: Our goal is to automate detection of new abuse patterns and act quickly to minimize financial loss to Amazon. This would act as a deterrent for abusers, while building trust for genuine customers. We use machine learning based models to automate the abuse detection in a scalable & efficient manner.Technologies: The ML models leveraged by the team include a vast variety ranging from regression-based (XgBoost), to deep-learning models (RNN, CNN) and use frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras for training & inference. Productionization of ML models for real-time low-latency high traffic use-cases poses unique challenges, which in turn makes the work exciting. In terms of tech stack, multiple AWS technologies are used, e.g. Sagemaker, ECS, Lambda, ElasticSearch, StepFunctions, AWS Batch, DynamoDB, S3, CDK (for infra), GraphDBs and are open to adopt new technologies as per use-case. The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader with superior analytical abilities. This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This candidate should possess verifiable leadership qualities including being proactive, thoughtful, thorough, decisive, and flexible, conducting themselves professionally and with integrity at all times. Qualified candidates have experience in building large scale systems with high quality and mentoring SDEs.,
    • 4+ years of professional software development experience
    • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
    • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
    • Master s degree in Computer Science or similar major
    • 5+ years hands on engineering experience
    • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and deliver complex, successful services and/or customer experiences efficiently
    • Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done
    • Ability to clearly communicate high level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including to senior leadership
    • Knowledge of Machine Learning domain
    • Large scale ML model deployment on AWS
    • Hands on experience on SageMaker and ML specific AWS services
    • Strong technical foundation with demonstrated willingness and capability to learn new technologies quickly
