Senior Network Engineer

Job Description

Aptean is seeking a Network Engineer to be responsible for the engineering, operation, and maintenance of the company- wide networkand security infrastructure. This will include analysis and support for one or more of the following:routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, intrusion detection systems, and event correlation systems.

This individual will work closelywith others within the infrastructure team and will provide third- tier technical support to various departments and users with regard to the network and/or security infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

Strong Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Network Routing technologies such as OSPF and BGP.

Strong Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Network switching technologies such as STP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, HSRP, VRRP etc.

Moderate to strong knowledge and experience in Firewall technologies such as L2L VPNs, Remote- VPNs, IPSEC and IKE technologies.

Fair Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Wireless technologies such as Meraki/Cisco APs, wireless controllers.

Some Knowledge and experience in WAN optimizers such as Bluecoat, Riverbed etc.

Working experience with different networking products such as Network Switches, Wireless and Firewalls from different vendors.

Working experience on analysis of Event log monitoring tools and syslog tools such as Solarwinds, Nagios, PRTG, Cisco Prime.

Prior experience with managing Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco Switches, Installation, Software and Hardware upgrades.

Experience in handling incident tickets and change management processes.

Must have good understanding of network troubleshooting on Windows, Linux Operating systems.

Good understanding of Information Security, networking fundamentals and protocols like TCP/IP.

Strong analytical, critical thinking skill, Problem solving, and strong communication skill are a must.

Perform Tier 1 2 triage for all alerting and user raised tickets for problem resolution.

End- to- End Incident management for all severity incidents from initial triage until resolution, follow defined troubleshooting guides

to resolve network issues with advance troubleshooting, root cause analysis and coordination with onsite data center support teams and vendors.

Experience in operations role that includes monitoring, troubleshooting, proactive measurement for capacity issues in network and security environment.

Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.

Participates in an on call rotation to provide 24x7 support Position will require ability to move and rack hardware Position will require being available to perform maintenance during non- business hours and over weekends

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

3 to 6 years of network engineering experience preferred.

8+ years of network engineering experience

In- depth knowledge of Cisco hardware and F5 (LTM, GTM) Application Load Balancing

Experience in Firewall

Comprehensive knowledge of network and security principles, LAN/WAN and internet technologies

Highly skilled in network performance analysis and troubleshooting complex technical problems

Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.

Participates in an on call rotation to provide 24x7 support

Position will require ability to move and rack hardware

Position will require being available to perform maintenance during non- business hours and over weekends
