Job Description

    For one of the largest white- labeled Data and Value Added Services [VAS]companies for Mobile, Landline and Media Service Providers.Senior Software Engineer, Video Technologies OD- 3311- 4 VACANCY DETAILSOD- 3311- 4 Senior Software Engineer, Video Technologies VPU Engineering Manager REQUIRED: BS/ MSCS or equivalent, with a minimum of 3+ years experience in video compression, transcoding and transrating technologies. Good verbal and written communication skills; the ability to deal with customers andvendors. Knowledge of and development experience in modern video compression algorithms, inparticular H.264, MPEG- 4, and H.263. Experience in improving and optimizing algorithms for video coding, video transcoding, and advanced video processing techniques. Knowledge of storage/ container/ transport formats (e.g. 3GP, FLV, MPEG2TS, ) Excellent programming skills in C and C++ languages (PHP and Python desirable) Experience with the full software development lifecycle, design, develop, debug, document, and deliver. DESIREABLE: Linux (preferably RHEL) development and system management skills (real- time and multi- threaded) Knowledge and experience of networking media protocols like SIP, RTSP, RTP(UDP) and RTCP and understanding of HTTP delivery Working knowledge of HTTP streaming (progressive download and Apple HTTP LiveStreaming Draft RFC Pantos ) Experience developing appliances and application servers (on Intel based servers) Track record of delivering production- grade software into shipping products Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio (C++) and Eclipse (C++/ CDT) developmentenvironments Experience tuning/ porting video CODECs in a complex embedded system forreal- time streaming application Experience with Intel Performance Primitives optimised libraries. Experience with TI DSPs and the Code Composer Studio development environment. Knowledge and experience in media processing framework (GStreamer or Direct- X). Knowledge of media processing pipelines/ tool- chains Exposure to testing and analysis tools such as video analysers, WinSIP, Ethereal andscripting (e.g. Perl, Python) and test automation Involvement in standardization of a developed technology. A working understanding of protection of Engineering or Research work via patents.
