Job Description

    The mission of competitive analysis team is to provide best-in-class competitive insights to the internal product teams and help them prioritize and beat the competition in various global markets. The role will provide an opportunity to be part of an important and priority workstream, and work with other developers and products analyst to build automated solutions through web scrapping. The role will also provide an opportunity to build and lead the pilot project for forecasting and predictive modelling in near future and help the product teams with early warning signalsOur purpose is to bring the world within reach. In order to accomplish that, we are seeking an innovative, creative and analytical developer, who is passionate about Expedia and the future of travel.If you enjoy solving complex problems, work effectively with cross-functional teams and thrive in a constantly evolving landscape, then this opportunity will be exciting for you.Additional benefits with this role involve Constant Learning & Development support towards individual needs, flexibility with timings and opportunity to uncover emerging trends.We observe multiple industry players and their products, and thus you will be always working on some new challengeWhat youll do:Build automated solutions to scrape data & images from web and app platformsDevelop tools & techniques related to the various data extraction processesProcess and compare the extracted data to further refine the outputStore the extracted data into S3 or similar other destinationsWho you are:Bachelors degree in Engineering, or related field; or equivalent related professional experience2-4 years of Experience in Web Scraping or Crawling through Scrapy, Selenium, Beautiful Soup or any other frameworks and related librariesExperience with Java or python scriptingDemonstrate the working knowledge or project of any past scrapping e-commerce websiteSound Knowledge in various crawling methods, concepts, and bypassing Bot Detection TechniquesGood knowledge of Various Databases from RDBMS to SQLWeb RestFul APIs / Microservices Development ExperienceExperience or passion in building predictive and forecasting analytical modelsSelf-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment.Passion to handle complicated and dynamic problems to build solutions using strong Logical & Analytical skills,
