Job Description

    We at Routing and Switching team are looking for an expert, motivated and dedicated individual. You must be interested in progressing your career in Routing and Network Synchronization technologies with good exposure to Linux System and Network Programming. You will have an influential and meaningful role giving to next generation routing capabilities and distributed systems passionate about carrier grade capability, scale and reliability.ResponsibilitiesContribute in development of new pioneering packet based platforms for Network Synchronization requirements.Design, develop and sustain sophisticated Network Synchronization/Timing (PTP, SyncE, GNSS) features for our existing packet switching/routing platforms.Lead customer engagements driving deployments and be a technology enthusiast for Ciena in this areaDrive learning and development of skills required for building brand-new packet switching/routing platforms.General ActivitiesAuthor and supply in software design, development, validation, and documentation to deliver high quality, functionally excellent products.Develop software for network synchronisation component of routing and switching products.Trouble shoot issues. Identify root cause, debug & deliver robust timely fixes.Understand and work on evolution of different ITU-T/IEEE/IETF standards in area of network synchronisation.Collaboration with Global stakeholdersMulti-functional R&D teams.PLM and Product Architects.3rd party vendors.Field Support teamsExperience / Skill Required:2+ years of demonstrated ability with Bachelors/ Masters degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).Excellent C programming skills with strong debugging and trouble shooting skills over Linux platform.Expertise in Data Structure and Algorithms.Strong exposure to TCP/IP stack of Linux kernel and data path development in Linux environment is helpfulExposure to Network Synchronization technologies (SyncE/1588v2), Clock Recovery (ACR/DCR/EPAR), GNSS, BITS, G.8261, G.8265, G.8275, A-PTS 3) will be a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, efficiently able to collaborate with multiple teams across geographically diverse areas.Optimally able to work independently with little hands-on supervision delivering to bold timelines.Team oriented; strong inter-personal skills and Leadership to take initiatives to completion independently in a collaborative environment.,
