About the opportunityAbout TechnologyThe Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance and customer service functions. The broader organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day to day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.Purpose of your roleReporting to the Senior Technical Manager, the incumbent will be a member of the Messaging & Collaboration Team with a primary focus on the Messaging & Collaboration infrastructure i.e. O365 Services, Active Directory, MS Teams, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business.On a day to day basis the role will be to provide technical and engineering leadership to projects needing input from global messaging, directory infrastructure and related products. The candidate would also be responsible for keeping product roadmaps up to date, planning core infrastructure upgrades including high level budget submission and ensuring all ancillary commercial and asset management systems are accurate.It is expected that the candidate will work closely with peers across disciplines and foster a relationship of trust, understanding and synergy. The role requires technical leadership, presentation skills both at a technical level and a senior management level. From time to time the candidate would be expected to support operations teams in major incidents as well as with vendor support teams. A key requirement is the individual would be able to identify skill gaps in team members and work with them in a mentoring capacity to improve the skills of the team.Key Responsibilities
• Work with the Senior Technical Management, Product Owners and Project Managers to lead the implementation and upgrading technology across the Collaboration stack
• Help deliver service improvements without unnecessary investment in new products by working smarter, provision of better tools and better use of existing product set
• Improve alignment of Technology solutions with Operational areas to focus on practical delivery of solutions architecture to FIL using experience from across the Windows Server product set
• To act as Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) for Exchange, AD or other linked products
• Adherence to Security Policy surrounding platform standards and provides engineering solutions to that policy as directed by the Security Product roadmap
• Ensures operational requirements are matched in the delivery of services around standards and engineering, identifying when support arrangements may need to change in order to efficiently and effectively onboard new technology
• Owns and manages the performance and capacity management of the infrastructure
• Owns, maintains and plans product lifecycle as product owner ensuring roadmaps are maintained and fit with vendor roadmaps and overall strategy of all product owners
• Ensures effective communication across the department and across geographically dispersed teams, including identifying new skills, skills gaps and working to improve overall team knowledge
• Excellent communication at all levels
• Work independently as technical lead on projects on behalf of the Messaging and Collaboration as well as manage junior members in the team who are acting as technical resources, be able to make informed decisions and update manager on progress / concerns
Experience & Qualifications
• Experience of O365 suite of products including Skype For Business, SharePoint Online, One Drive for Business and Microsoft Teams
• Experience of large-scale user migration to O365 and operational experience is highly desirable
• Experience of Microsoft Cloud technologies including Azure AD & Office365 and associated infrastructure e.g. ADFS & Azure AD Connect.
• Experience of Teams as a Platform (inc voice) and consultancy on adopting Teams and automating business flow
• Experience of Power Platform
• Experience of Microsoft Intune or an understanding of MDM/MAM/Conditional Access policies
• Experience of Exchange administration 2016 desirable
• Excellent Active Directory 2008/2012/2016 design, troubleshooting & administration experience
• Excellent Windows Server 2012 R2/ 2016 build, configuration, and troubleshooting. Demonstrable experience of Windows Server Core would be an advantage
• Proven experience of using and supporting Cisco IronPort and implementing and managing TLS/DKIM/DMARC
• PowerShell scripting for Windows, Exchange, and AD administration, reporting and change
• Good experience of security principles, least privilege, segregation of duty, audit events and be able to discuss implications with InfoSec specialists
• Experience of Private Key Infrastructure (PKI), Active Directory Certificate Services and associated protocol standards as implemented on Windows
• A strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies such as HTTP, SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and other web protocols, proxies and load balancers
• Experience presenting & reporting to technical and management teams
• Understanding of Active Directory security concepts like tiering, Privileged Access Workstations or Bastion Forests desirable.
• Understanding of Active Directory security risks like lateral movement desirable.
• ITL certified (Desirable) with a knowledge of structured change management.
