Job Description

About the opportunity

Technical Writer will produce high-quality documentation that reduces our go-to-market time by working collaboratively with sales coordinators, project managers, and subject matter experts to create document toolkits.

Content Writer (Proposal) Job Duties:

  • Understand our brand guidelines thoroughly. This will become the basis for your further assignments
  • You may be assigned a sector/geography. Your job is to understand and meet their content requirements
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the bids/projects and the documentation requirements
  • Once you are aware of the brand guidelines and documentation requirements, you will contribute to the content development/curation for various bids/proposals/brochures as well as internal communication mailers
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets brand guidelines and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Write easy-to-understand project descriptions, capability statements, boilerplate content and other go-to-market documents
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Work with knowledge analysts to create/repurpose content for our in-house knowledge center
  • Liaising with peers across geographies to trade knowledge and develop project-specific content strategy
  • Create and maintain the information architecture
  • Develop templates for proposal response
  • Create response strategy matrices
  • Gather information from different sources such as existing repositories, interviewing consultants, subject matter experts; existing documentation related to services offerings, marketing collateral, or Statements of Work to develop content for proposals
  • Follow established processes and best practices for the design and creation of technical content
  • Research and write new response content
  • Edit and refine content provided from various sources to ensure it conforms to win themes and the Optiv voice
  • Collaborate with the in-house creative services team to ideate and create winning designs
  • Maintain quality results by using templates; following company standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining all content support databases.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

About You:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years proven working experience in technical writing
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical/engineering concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
