Job Description

About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionFIL Performance and Attribution systems are responsible for calculation of Investment Performance, Attribution and Risk measures for Fidelity funds alongside of distribution. Platform supports business across various geographies like Asia, Europe, UK, etc.Primary technologies used in these applications are: Oracle, Java, Eagle Pace, Informatica, Python, Perl and UNIXPurpose of your roleThis position is for an experienced agile technical lead to focus on delivery of new business functionality and enablement of less experienced colleagues in a development team of approximately 10 people. The role is a crucial part of the Performance team and is critical to enable us to deliver high quality systems to the business more quickly.The successful candidate will be able to provide their expertise in building and laying down a robust foundation for major initiatives and also help in reducing the risk of missing the deadlines. The role demands an expert technical lead who has a great in-depth functional knowledge of Performance and Attribution along with good knowledge on key tools and technologies that we are using, an attitude of innovation, automation, and doing the right thing.The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and the Architect assigned to the project/ development team. The development teams are approximately 8-10 people with 6-8 developers each.Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Architects to understand and implement the proposed solution.
  • Working with the Business Analyst to understand the functional requirements.
  • Working with the team to collaborate on estimating of development effort based on proposed solution
  • Delivery business functionality quickly, efficiently and to a high quality
  • Raising the productivity and quality of development teams by promoting agile practices and sharing skills through mentoring and/or pairing
Experience and Qualifications RequiredTechnicalA minimum of 6-9 years of hands on system software analysis, development and testing using Python, Oracle PL-SQL, Unix and Control-MKnowledge of essential Software Engineering principles.Strong Python (& Pandas) hands on knowledge and strong scripting skillsKnowledge of Relational Databases Management Systems (RDBMS) concepts.Oracle hands-on knowledge: E.g.: PLSQL, Triggers, reusable function and Oracle Query Performance TuningUnderstand a data warehousing solution and able to work independently in such an environment.
