What youll do at Markit DigitalThe Mercury team assists Markit Digital component teams with operational management of critical 3rd party applications. Our goal is to automate and streamline 3rd party application releases, integrate monitoring capabilities and provide operational expertise for these applications.You will be part of a highly skilled and versatile DevOps team working in a fast-paced environment. You will be involved in building new processes to integrate with existing tools to enable automation for the installation and maintenance of 3rd party applications. Position SummaryCollaborate closely with small, cross-functional teams of designers, developers, engineers, and stakeholders to build new features and applicationsAutomate and perform 3rd party application upgrades using industry standard automation toolsetsDesign and implement overall application Devops strategyIntegrate monitoring tools for existing 3rd party applicationsStay up to date on the latest DevOPS practices and strategiesResearch, evaluate, and implement tools and procedures that provide strategic improvements to our products and processTake direction, go beyond what is asked, and constantly challenge yourself Love what you do, as this position will require a strong sense of ownership. Confidence in your work is a must. Duties & Accountabilities10 or more years of increasing responsibility in technical roles, with 3+ or more years of experience in guiding/managing Devops team.Ability to work with CMS system like Chef or puppetExperience with the following technologies: Jenkins/Bitbucket, Cassandra, Hadoop, Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana will be preferredKnowledge of container management and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and NomadExperience with monitoring and metric collection toolsets such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana CriticalExperience in Agile SCRUM project management methodologies.Proven verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively to customers, managers and technical staffExcellent Stakeholder and Client managementDemonstrated critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving skillsTeam player with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skillsHighly productive, and perpetually aware of the next thing to work onPersonal Competencies Strong analytical, investigative and problem solving skills. Self-starter with a natural curiosity to learn and develop capabilities. Commitment to producing quality work in a timely manner to ensure client satisfaction. Interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with cross functional teams. Ability to adapt quickly to existing and complex environment Communication Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
