Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Developing apps that embody Fueled s commitment to building exceptional products
  • Working in a cross-functional and collaborative environment using cutting edge technologies that continuously drive innovation forward
  • Being part of a team of highly skilled and passionate people across multiple time zones
  • Work with the Directors of Mobile Engineering to help define the technical direction for the Android team, contributing regularly to improving best practices and mentoring less experienced developers
The Ideal Candidate
  • Has 5 years of Android development experience
  • Has managed teams of 2-3 Android developers, coaching them on best practices for the Android platform
  • Earned a BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field
  • Has Android application development experience using Kotlin (with a strong background in Java), Android SDK / APIs / Frameworks, and Android Studio
  • Has a proven record of releasing apps to the store
  • Has object-oriented design and development experience; knowledge of data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, multi-threading, and complexity analysis
  • Comfortable with a variety of architectural patterns like MVP and MVVM
  • Proven experience with unit testing and continuous integration, direct experience with Mockito preferred
  • Has a strong understanding of Agile methodologies including sprint planning and task estimation, prior experience with Jira preferred
  • Comfortable with clean architecture patterns, dependency injection (Dagger 2), and reactive programming (especially Rx Java)
  • Preferably has personal projects or contributions to the Android open source community
  • Strong interest in cross-platform tools like Kotlin Multiplatform and Flutter, or experience with React Native preferred
