Network Operations SpecialistJob descriptionBusiness Function GITTechnologyReporting to Operations LeadDepartment Monitoring OperationsDepartment overview:-IHSMarkit s Infrastructure team consists of over 100 IT Professionals supporting 14000 users and circa 2000 Linux and Windows servers. Support staff is based in 5 major locations (Noida, London, Dallas, Denver and Singapore) which allows Infrastructure to provide follow-the-sun support to our product groups on a24 x 7 basis.The aim of Infrastructure is to deliver a globally consistent operational model with consolidated toolsets and compliant processes across IHSMarkit. Infrastructure will be organised on a Global, Regional and Local basis with the appropriate capabilities in each area to meet the business needs and drive the most efficient organisation.Position summary :-IHSMarkit is seeking a Network Engineer to assist in the take up of both BAU and project implementation requirements.Duties & accountabilities :-The Engineer will be accountable for the following:

• Perform day to day monitoring standards and customisation based the requirement. Engineers are expected to be in office for this duration
• Keep hardware inventory, documentation and network monitoring software up to date
• Manage project deployments and work with various systems teams globally to understand and deploy business requirements.
• Dashboard management and customization based on requirements Syslog, Traps & custom monitoring configuration based on requirements.
• Experience on latest version of NPM, SAM, NTA, VNQM, NCM, IPAM, DBA and other SolarWinds modules.
• Should have ability to drive end to end implementation and up-gradation of SolarWinds suites in Standalone and Distribution environment.

Business competenciesEducation and experience

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.General
  • 5-8 years in multi-vendor technology.
  • Hands-on experience in Datacentre Operations and Migrations.
  • Previous Project management and delivery experience in a datacentre environment.
  • Able to clearly show a history of delivering on schedule and to standard project work

• Mandatory Technologies
  • Experience with Orion/SolarWinds
  • Knowledge on SolarWinds NCM.
  • Knowledge on SolarWinds NPM.
  • Knowledge on Network Configuration Management Tools.
  • Good Knowledge on Perl & Shell scripting
  • Good Understanding on Routing Protocol
  • Very Good Knowledge on Networking Concepts
  • Global exposure in large environments.
  • Good Knowledge on Windows & UNIX OS.
  • Working Knowledge on SQL Database.
• Desirable Technologies
  • Experience on Azure and Cloud monitoring

• SCP/NCM/CCNA certification is desirable but candidate needs to be able to demonstrate a similar level of competency.

Commercial awareness

• Ability to work with business stakeholders and understand underlying business objectives.
• Availability to travel to IHSMarkit s other offices as required.
