Job Description

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Visa Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.Position Purpose:As a Software Development Engineer, Staff you can look forward to serving the Software Engineering Department and play a key role in developing industry leading software for our customers.In this role you will be responsible for defining, developing, and testing complex technical and architectural solutions that support Fiserv Premier Core banking solutions to address the needs of Fiserv clients and their customers.You will work on a wide variety of application, where you can apply your existing knowledge to tackle new market problems on almost a daily basis.This is a full-time position in a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled software professionals to deliver high quality software to help clients improve the way they do business.Business Description:Analyzes technical and business procedures and assists in the development of detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Develops, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and installs computer software. Recommends changes in procedures and software development activities.Reporting Relationships:Reports To: Manager Software EngineeringPeers: Software Development Engineer, Tech Lead or Software Development Engineer Sr StaffDirect Reports: NoneEssential Job Responsibilities:You will work in an environment that promotes Agile development methodologies.Basic Qualifications for Consideration:Education: Associate s degree in Computer Programming, or equivalent education in a related discipline is preferred.Minimum 2 plus year s experience requiredType of work experience required: Work experience should include deep understanding of Web or Cloud based application development.Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:Education: A completed Bachelor s Degree in IT, or an Associate s degree in Computer Programming, or equivalent education in a related discipline is preferred. Additional Skills/Knowledge:A knowledge of programming (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc )A knowledge of how to document program design, coding, and maintenance.An understanding of how critical project completion is to client happiness.A knowledge of the relationship between software and hardware interaction.Interaction with external and internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation.Experience with GitHub or JIRA will be preferred.Knowledge of technologies and development patterns such as but not limited to:i. .Net Core, .Net Frameworkii. Web API, REST Architectureiii. Asp.Net MVC, WCFiv. JQuery, Typescript, Angular JSv. SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or DB2vi. Automated Unit testing, SOLID programming principlesExposure to UI technologies like React, Angular is helpful.Experience working with agile methodologies is helpful.Experience of developing cloud native applications is a plus.Experience working with global teams is helpful.Financial industry interest and experience is helpful
  • Travel Required:
    • The position is based out of Pune, India. The travel requirements will be minimal. However, there may be business needs for travel (to client locations and other Fiserv locations) and hence some flexibility is expected
