We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team one that makes better decisions, drives innovation and delivers better business results.Job TitleAccountant Job Posting Title: Accountant Rebates & Incentives AccountingJob Overview: Support accounting functions within the Rebates and Incentives (R&I) accounting processSupport transition of R&I accounting and payment processing work from existing internal owners into a centralized teamR&I payment validation and processing functionCreation of new deals and incentives in Mastercard Contra Revenue System (CRS)Perform account reconciliationsPrepare period-by-period analysis and explain significant account variancesMonitor compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures and with all regulatory requirementsKeep abreast of changes to accounting requirements to ensure ongoing complianceRole:Review executed contracts and create customers, deals and incentives in the Mastercard Contra Revenue System (CRS)Create and maintain Deal Workbooks and report periodically on deal performance Accomplish timely, accurate close of the CRS sub ledger and Oracle general ledger, including creation and review of journal entriesIdentify and prepare manual journal entries through the analysis of close results, trends and actual to budget/forecastPerform detailed review of rebate and incentive payment requests including contract review and validation of driver data to various internal systems Provide overall support and customer service to business partners located throughout the Mastercard Worldwide organizationMonitor performance indicators to track progress against goalsPerform various ad-hoc reporting, analysis or projects, as neededPartner with financial systems regarding CRS requirements, data, reporting, and functionalitySupport SOX control complianceSupport global processes, primarily focusing on the Asia Pacific region which may require early start times to address customer needs real-timeOther duties as requiredAll About You:Education/Certification:Masters degree in Accounting or FinanceICWA / CA, preferredKnowledge/Experience/Skills:Knowledge of US GAAP and current accounting conceptsPrior revenue, contra revenue, and/or contract management experience, preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsRobust understanding of MS Excel and financial/ERP systems, preferably direct experience with OracleProgressive accounting experience preferably in a large, global environmentAbility to deliver accurate results in a fast-paced environment with attention to deadline constraintsPrior experience in supporting business process transitions and process improvements projectsCapable of working within a changing environment with excellent analytical, planning and organization skillsDue to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
