Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.Introduction: Proficient Java developer for designing and developing high performing, scalable and rich server side exchange connectivity components for Equities eTrading applications to be used by electronic trading desk. The role holder will be self-motivated individual able to collaborate with a global development team to facilitate development of exchange connectivity modules in line with business/regulatory and technology requirements.What will you be doing Work within a globally distributed development team to deliver Java based Exchange connectivity application components for use by the electronic trading desks. Continuous focus on Capacity, Performance and Resiliency. Hands on technical design and implementation of current and next-generation exchange connectivity. Promote common design and implementation practices and reuse of technology. Running and analyzing performance and memory usage benchmarks. Solve the latency issues with the efficient use of memory and hardware resources. The role will include working with our business analysts and the traders to clarify requirements and to solicit feedback on the system. In addition, the candidate should be a self-starter who can drive to clarify designs and requirements if they are insufficiently detailed. As the system goes in production, the role will include third line support. Follow the agile development methodology using scrums/sprints etc for software development.What we re looking for: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other analytical field 8+ years proven experience with Java, with a focus on low latency programming, threading, collections, concurrency & optimization Strong experience with Linux / Unix and Distributed file system Worked in designing core Java based applications Fully Hands on multitasker with top-notch programming skills Keen eye for troubleshooting and problem solving Proficient in Agile DevelopmentSkills that will help you in the role Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedules Solid understanding of design patterns Experience with distributed architectures Strong communication skills with experience in business facing front office applications Experience in Derivatives and Risk domain Experience C++, Scala or Python would be a big plus DevOps tools experience is desired (Docker, Teamcity, Maven etc)Where will you be working PuneBe More at Barclays At Barclays, each day is about being more as a professional, and as a person.
