Associate Data EngineerLocation PunePosting date 8 hours ago(3/31/2021 2:52 AM)Job ID 84364 Category Operations Job summary The Red Hat Global Business Delivery (GBD) Sales and Services Business Finance team is looking for an experienced Associate Data Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, your responsibilities will include cross-referencing, data cleansing, and data reconciliation across different systems like Red Hat enterprise data sources, Salesforce.com, AWS Redshift, commissions systems, and Oracle. You will be the primary contact for sales reporting, sales planning, and strategic analysis support. You will be responsible for continuous improvement of ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for business users and stakeholders. You ll participate in performance tuning, creating new tables, view, writing python scripts, and complex SQL queries and cooperate with business users, gathering requirements, and delivering complete reporting solutions. Primary job responsibilities

  • Write complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large datasets; be involved in SQL query tuning and provided tuning recommendations
  • Write Python scripts to massage, clean data, and setup CRON job to automate data extract and loads
  • Perform root cause analysis on CRON job failures, resolve performance tuning related issues and queries
  • Foster collaboration among data engineers, IT, and other business groups to ensure data is accessible to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team
  • Schedule a regular hot backup process and involved in the backup activities
Required skills
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer, BI engineer, business or financial analyst, or systems analyst in a company with large, complex data sources
  • Python programming skills for data querying, cleaning, and presentation
  • Knowledge of relational databases PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc.; experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, EMR, and RDS
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Detail-oriented and enthusiastic with a focus on delivering results
  • Ready to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand; open to learn new methods, techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to represent complex algorithms in software
  • Familiarity with BI visualization tools, e.g. Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to think through issues and problems in a logical manner and planning knowledge is a plus
