GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a technical and financial background. The focus will be on the internal administrative activities of the Global Database Platform (GDP) group as it relates to Budgeting (Capital and Expense), Tracking and Reporting of the groups financial position and working closely with Procurement and Licensing. The successful candidate will be supporting key administrative activities as part of a high touch team of DBAs. The candidate will be required to fully understand the functions of the budgeting and financial process as it relates to the team. Responsibilities and Required Skills Clear understanding of the budgeting process. Experience with Financial Software packages like CA-PPM and EPIC Creating Project and task records in CA PPM Creating Appropriation (AR) requests in PPM Tracking Actuals and Committed costs on a per Project basis Forecasting the budget over a set period of time(typically the financial year) Maintaining and updating team members assigned to Projects. Reporting on run rates, overages and providing input into year end positions. Validating license renewals and invoices. Budgeting Capital and Expense for the division, gathering data from groups and compiling a single Budget view for senior managers. Additional responsibilities will include tracking and review of Project and IT Service Management deliverables. Competencies Ability to understand technically complex and fast-changing environment. Ability to understand the nuances of what is Capital and Expense as it relates to Project work (Labor) and Purchases (Software and Hardware) . Strong planning and organizing skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously. Independent contributor with good time management skills and the ability to work to and meet deadlines. Ability to think strategically and evaluate options in the short, medium and long term. Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally. Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge situations and assess when to escalate issues. Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritization. Good team player, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. Additional Skills Plus Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Powerpoint) Ability to learn new software packages. Strong presentation skills. Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial administration, exposure to Technology or Technical Project Management (PMO).
