Role:Northern Trust is looking for an experienced Murex Technical Consultant responsible for enhancing and supporting current Murex (for Credit and Market Risk) implementation. The role will revolve around the support of the Murex application as well as current application development team to drive superior business value, enhanced customer experience and compliance. The associate is expected to interface with multiple traders and CreditMarket Risk Managers. This is a demanding role with an opportunity to collaborate with the experts in the capital market space.Responsibilities:
  • Address tickets escalated by L1/L2 teams.
  • Work with SME, Business Analyst to develop new solutions in Murex
  • Lead operational escalations from incident origination to close, plus any root cause, remediation, and prevention.
  • Reporting of incidents to management and stakeholders during incident lifecycle.
  • Operational trend reporting to management on vendor issues, internal issues, and partner team issues.
  • Operational reporting on all issues and root cause, as well as follow up actions as required from dev team and/or vendors.
  • Hands-on improve operational stability via automation, such as autohealing where possible, and raise design changes to Data analyst, SMEs and/or architects, as well as opportunities to application /service managers.
  • Ensure runbooks are fully up-to date and consistently improving the efficiency derived from automation.
  • Hands-on experience with unix scripting, low-code automation, and high-touch debugging and analysis of issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Control-m, JIRA, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
Skills Required:
  • A College or University degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Solid technical background with at least 3 years of demonstrated track record in end-to-end software development life cycle and successful delivery of technical solutions using Murex and Java.
  • Expertise in Murex, particularly workflows, real-time, PFE, VaR and counter-party configurations
  • Experience with project feasibility, definition requirements, and design and/or project leadership.
  • Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies are required.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance.
