Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Multiload, BTEQ, created & modified databases, performed capacity planning, allocated space, granted rights for all objects within databases, etc
• Loading data from various data sources and legacy systems into Teradata production and development warehouse using BTEQ, FASTEXPORT, MULTI LOAD, FASTLOAD
• Data Analysis to design consumption based semantic layer. Thorough understanding of business KPIs and propose solutions to provide maximum business value with available data points.
• Data Analysis to identify issues related to data quality , data consistency , propose strategic solutions to fix the issues.
• Analyze business requirement, design, development and support of Data Mart/ Presentation layer Data models, which is used across every Business Unit in Vodafone to support data driven decision making
• Information delivery to business users as required using Business Intelligence tools and/or other software tools, using SQL and other programming languages.
• Undertake ad-hoc data analysis and reporting using SQL.
• Business Subject Matter Expert Need in-depth understanding of business
• Providing information to business as per demand
• Ownership of business topics, accountable for any data related issue
• Content data analysis (eg. why is ARPU so high)
• Script analysis (eg. to understand data flow & logics)
• Pre analysis (eg. to support Product Owner)
• Data quality analysis (eg. red signal in early warner)
• Data checks (eg. comparison of tables, completeness)
• KPI analysis (eg. Comparing data and logic of KPIs to support KPI alignment)
• Support business within UAT testing
• Able to work with Local market and Product Owners to have detailed understanding of business use cases and underlying user strories
• Able to liaise with Analytics team to have detailed understanding of Analytis use cases and associated data provisioning requirements.
• Able to liaise with Visualization team to discuss and seek inputs on how the business story will flow, and how data will be consumed and presented on the dashboard
• Able to work on data profiling and fit-gap analysis tasks on GCP (BQ + Cloud storage) to determine if the available data points are fit for purpose and can support the given business use cases.
• Able to write BQ scripts of varied complexity to support data mapping validations and also to address questions on data design and mappings during SIT/UAT.

Typical Outputs

• Designing end to end BI Solutions, designing and analysis of Presentation Layers and Data Mart. Data mapping documents & Psuedo Code.
• Data consultant for BI, Reporting and Analytics team
• Report and query outputs, using SQL and BI tools
• Data validation by applying business rules. Analysing business requirement and producing technical solution.
• Liaison with different stakeholders (e.g Business , Viz team , IT and business analyst , Info. architect) while providing right data sets for business insights.
• Delivery within agreed timelines with quality

• Strong DWH & Dimensional modelling skills is essential. Detailed understanding of industry standard data models is must.
• Programming background Strong database knowledge; Strong SQL, file manipulation eg Unix skills
• Knowledge of Cloud (GCP, AWS) reporting tools an advantage
• Experienced at debugging complex logic
• Strong communications skills
• Knowledge of Telecommunication industry, not essential, but a distinct advantage.
