Job Description

    Develop, and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models; identifying business critical gaps and discrepancies; actively propose and implement remediation tactics - Establish and maintain a Data Model blueprint to provide reference and framework to the systems development efforts - Evangelize data modeling and effectively communicate benefits and return on investment for application and product owners - Work with the database engineering and DBAs to create optimal physical data models (transactions, normalized and dimensional models; etc.,) - Create/Maintain Data Maps and systems interrelationship diagrams for data domains and systems - Manage data modeling repository, data modeling process and support model driven development - Define and govern data modeling/design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies - Champion Data Lineage, Metadata Management and Data quality Analysis processes - Collaborate with Business Data Analysts to design and model Business Intelligence Semantic layers for optimized information access - Maintain effective relationships with product managers, architects and technical leads - Partner with other Fidelity business technology teams to identify potential reuse through personal influence and persuasion Required Candidate profile Education and Experience : - This role requires 12+ years of experience in multiple IT areas that include data analysis, data modeling, Data Warehouse design and development - Demonstrated data architecture, data modeling and solution design experience in the financial services industry - Bachelors or Masters Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Software, etc.) required Skills and Knowledge : - 12+ years of experience design/development of Large Data Warehouse and/or Database Management Systems - Expertise in data modeling principles/methods including, Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Models - Demonstrated experience designing normalized and dimensional data models for financial services or corporate business areas - Demonstrated experience modeling high performance multi-dimensional Data Marts and Reporting structures including OLAP cubes - 8-10 years of deep experience working with industry leading data analysis and modeling tools (e.g. Power Designer, ERWin, ER/Studio) - 8+ years of experience with database development (SQL, PL/SQL) and scripting - 5+ years of experience with Data Lineage, Metadata Management and Data Profiling processes and tools - Familiarity with DB development and lifecycle management tools ex: DBArtisan/ Datical, Redgate or similar - Working knowledge of Data Modeling for Hadoop, No SQL or Object-Relational Models - Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience - Strong inter-personal and communication skills including written, verbal, and technology illustrations - Experience working with multiple clients and projects at a time and ability to quickly understand and incorporate new technologies - Prior experience working with geographically (globally) distributed teams and matrixed relationships Role: Database Administrator Industry Type: IT Services & Consulting Department: Engineering - Software & QA Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Role Category: DBA / Data warehousing
