Do you want to design and build next generation business applications using the latest technologies Are you confident at iteratively refining user requirements and removing any ambiguity Are you motivated to work in a complex, divers and global environment We re looking for a software engineer to: engineer and deliver compliant and secure connectivity tools like DB2 Client and DB2 jdbc connectivity for Windows and Unix Server. deliver compliant SQL tools like Toad for Db2 and Data Studio on Windows platform. integrate and package Db2 server software into UBS AIX on IBM Power platform develop maintenance and infrastructure scripts and take actions to improve performance and quality. increase test standardization and automation. work within change management policies and procedures to deliver a secure and stable product to production. provide L3 support to Support teams and evaluate and plan database migrations. support development teams with Db2 connectivity, certificate management and design considerationsYour teamInfrastructure Core is a global organization within Group Technology Infrastructure & Security Engineering providing technology platforms to underpin our partners business applications. You will be part of the ECS team, which has a global footprint and works with clients and wider team members spread across the world. Together we drive consistency across business divisions and optimize operations and support costs, by providing timely, robust, cost effective solutions and products to our clients.You ll be working in the ECS Team, as part of the Technology division in Pune . You ll be working in the Midrange DBA & Db2 Competence Center team which is located in Basel and Zurich. We are responsible to provide DBA services to the customers of the largest Data Warehouse in UBS which hosts close to 300 applications and we engineer the Db2 LUW product as well as the client tools required to access the distributed Db2 databases. Your aim is to provide the most stable and available database and ensure UBS compliant client access., experienced IT user with education - university degree computer science or management information system overall 8+ years and 5+ years of experience in a similar position in Db2 or AIX system engineering advanced knowledge in Db2 LUW, SQL, AIX/Unix, shell, Perl and Java programing advanced knowledge in Toad and Data Studio in depth database engine knowledge especially in Db2 DPF (Database Partitioning Feature), e.g., backup/restore, user management, authentication and authorization and certificate management. knowledge in the Microsoft Office palette (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) knowledge in Windows OS and scripting with VBA + PowerShell database design experience (physical and logical) and deep knowledge in partitioned databases experience in Change and Release Management with good understanding of ITIL worked in similar positions before and have strong analytical capability to engineer and integrate vendor products open to new challenges and client oriented quick thinking and have a deep technical understanding initiative, competent, efficient and have the ability to work in a global team a self-driven person, target oriented and communicative fluent in EnglishWill Be a Plus Database Optimization Techniques such as Partitioned Tables, SQL programming, Execution Plans, Data File management to support different usage, full range of Backup & Restore strategies, Indexes, XML optimization Very good skills in create, analyze or tune complex SQL statements Knowledge in Data Modelling, Data Integration and Database Design Structured methods for design (e.g Star schema, snowflake ) SDLC, Service Now and HP Quality Center know-how German Language
