It presents Db2 database information in an intuitive, graphical user interface (GUI), making it easier to understand and faster to manipulate.In the past, application developers wrote Db2 applications using a mainframe terminal. Today, most developers write applications with little or no mainframe knowledge. While they still need access to Db2 information, they might not know how to use TSO/ISPF to retrieve Db2 catalog information, or how to perform and interpret the results of an EXPLAIN to optimize application performance.BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 is a web-based interface that allows application developers to access the Db2 catalog information while developing Db2 applications, and without having to rely on overtaxed database administrators (DBAs). Instead of having to learn how to use TSO/ISPF to navigate the internals of Db2, the application the developer uses a graphical interface that presents information in an intuitive way. BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 maintains security by retaining all the access restrictions of the mainframe, including the mainframe logon and password, and observing all of the Db2 access privileges that have been defined for the login credentialsPRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Works under guidance of senior staff members.
  • Maintains knowledge of product environments and applicable software technologies.
  • Accurately estimates the size and scope of the development and/or testing effort of projects.
  • Provides complete documentation in the form of commented code, problem status information, and design documents.
  • Performs thorough problem analysis that results in resolution of product-related problems according to BMC support standards.
  • Completes code and testing deliverables on schedule.
  • Conducts and participates in team code, test plan (and other artifact) reviews.
  • Mentors earlier career staff.
QUALIFICATION:
  • Mainframe and/or Web Application Programming experience
  • Experience researching and using DB2 features
  • Commitment to preserving customer data and security
  • Able to manage a mixed workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development, product maintenance, and unit-testing and integration testing activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Mainframe programming experience
  • Strong JCL skills
  • Experience developing and executing test plans for complex product features
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • HTML5, JavaScript programming experience
  • DB2 DBA or Programming experience using DB2
  • Experience using SQL
  • Debugging experience
DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:
  • Understanding of DB2 Utilities
  • JIRA
  • Agile Methodology
  • C/C++, Assembler programming experience desirable
