Job Description

  • Manages diverse product teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long-term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/VA programs for division.
  • Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define Digitization technology for division working with CoE and product line teams.
  • Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team.
  • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in software and firmware design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for ICPD Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative software, electrical and mechanical designs for meters relays product portfolio to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
  • Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
  • Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
  • Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time.
  • Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities.
  • Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
  • Utilizes DFSS & Agile concepts / tools for new product development &/or existing product improvements. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX & Agile SCRUM for EIIC engineering community.
  • Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.
  • Champion Agile deployment ensuring project health on SCRUM parameters and contribute in sprint planning, demo and retrospective.
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • BE/ME in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science Engineering
  • 10 to 15 years of design experience with software for electromechanical systems. Minimum four-year experience as Manager of People
  • Should have sound knowledge in embedded products like HMI/PLCs and electro-mechanical products like motor protection relays, switch disconnects and contactors.
  • Strong technical experience in software (C/C++, Embedded Linux, CoDeSys) for industrial automation products
  • Exposure to requirement-based testing - Unit, Integration, System, CI /CD
  • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical and software design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
  • Sound Analysis Mindset and drive DP maturity to enhance NPI efficacy
  • Sound understanding of Agile development, UML, SDL and CMM
  • Sound knowledge of best practices in software engineering methodologies, processes, and technologies with a passion for programming
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking
  • Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain
  • Review and approve design proposals based on requirements /statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.

  • Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.
  • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas
