Job Description

*Emerson Innovation Center Pune is looking for a Compliance Engineer for their Design Center in Hinjewadi, Pune. This position requires strong understanding of various standards as applicable needed for compliance of individual parts of the Product and / or Subsystems. You must be a regulatory subject matter expert with a deep working knowledge of applicable worldwide regulatory and safety standards. You will engage with a diverse cross-functional team supporting the Engineering team to drive compliance testing and verification. You must be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively across multiple teams and have a strong understanding of regulatory compliance schemes and the processes required to determine relevant compliance requirement.In this role you will take the lead on certification and approvals for the portfolio of products produced by Emerson Gas Analysis Business that includes identification of relevant approvals for the range of products, managing the approval process by developing and maintaining an approvals plan, liaising with the appropriate bodies and developing documentation packs, test reports and supporting external testing.Roles and Responsibilities:As a Compliance Engineer you will be responsible to ensure compliance across all systems including CE / ATEX, FM, UL, CSA, IPXX, IEC and Intrinsic Safe Certification Standards.Work with Product Management to identify requirements for customer specific approvals, reviewing standards and documentation as appropriateIdentify work required to gain approvals, including any gaps and/or unknowns in product portfolio. Produce written reports and recommendations.Liaise with engineering functional leadership and product management on progress of various approvals projects to develop and maintain a prioritized approval planSupport global sales teams with technical information to achieve targeted metrology, legal and customer approvals for Gas Analysis product lines Work directly with notified bodies to identify and clarify requirements for product and/or application approval, reviewing standards and documentation as appropriate. Compile / develop documentation packs for approvals and manage the document approval cycle (transmittal dates, approval code etc).Own the Technical file for each product and responsible for following Emerson NPD and EC processes to ensure data is valid and approved internally and externallyManage internal / external approval testing, at NRTL s and customer sites as requiredSupport factory audits and comply with responsibilities as defined in Emerson s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team Manage relationship with Emerson Product Environmental Compliance team to ensure all products are ROHS and REACH compliant.Occasional travel may be required, for training or customer support.Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed. This job description is non-contractual and is for information and mutual understanding of both parties. , *Educational Qualifications:Engineering Degree in Electrical or related technical discipline with min 5yrs. of Regulatory Compliance and Testing Experience.Skill Sets Required:A minimum of 5 years experience obtaining EMC certifications from global regulatory agencies and Experience in documenting regulatory requirements extracted from compliance standards as well as hands - on with NEMA, UL and IP type enclosure rating and testing Working knowledge of global product compliance standards CE, ATEX, CSA, UL, UKCA.Design experience for industrial applications will be advantageousCompetent technical author with clear communication styleHighly organised with demonstrable process-oriented mindsetSelf-directed and motivated in a team-oriented environmentWorking knowledge of standard office software toolsKnowledge of ATEX and or other international hazardous area standardsStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people in a variety of disciplines though all levels of an organization.
