Financial AnalystLocation PunePosting date 1 hour ago(12/30/2020 7:28 AM)Job ID 82077 Category Operations Job summary The Red Hat Global Bid Desk (GBD) Finance team is looking for a Financial Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will focus primarily on supporting Red Hat s Corporate Controllership team, providing you with the opportunity to support month end, quarter end, and various executive level, ad-hoc reporting cycles. You will also have an opportunity to sharpen your analytical skills by partaking in ongoing financial reviews and exploring new ways to develop and interpret a variety of different financial and operational metrics critical to Red Hat s success. Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop analyses, key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, and presentations for bookings, revenue, and expenses
  • Review, analyze, and report financial results at the end of each month and quarter
  • Provide support to the Corporate Finance Controllership team for ad hoc requests and preparation of financial analysis and presentations for executives as requested
  • Coordinate with other finance functions to consolidate data for reporting purposes
  • Create financial models and dashboards with analysis on bookings, revenue and expenses
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat s global business model to identify financial trends and provide insights using analytical methods
  • Effectively collaborate with other business support teams like Sales, Services, Operations, Marketing, and Global Finance on deliverables as needed
  • Provide high quality automation of existing reports and business review decks
  • Work extended hours during quarter or year end periods when required, may include weekends
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat s workflows and a deep understanding of our policies
  • Continuously look for ways to improve productivity or the level of services provided to the business.
Required skills
  • Bachelor s degree in finance; MBA is a big plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • 6+ years of relevant strategy, finance, analytics, budgeting, forecasting, or consulting experience
  • Solid spreadsheet skills with proven experience in managing large data sets, performing analysis, and building user-friendly models
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Excel and data visualization skills
  • Knowledge of at least one enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, preferably Oracle
  • Experience with Hyperion, including Essbase, Smartview, or One Stream
  • Experience with analytical tools like Qlikview, Tableau, or any other business intelligence (BI) visualization tools
  • Ready to learn new technologies and show attitude towards continuous development
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Knowledge of any of the following are considered a plus:
  • Experience in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
  • Experience in development of data products using Python or R-Shiny
  • Experience with using at least one data mining tool like Business Objects or SAS
  • Experience in relational database systems or data warehousing systems like SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
  • Basic understanding of and reporting in Salesforce.com
  • Experience in sales and services planning, forecasting, and performance reviews with a subscription-based or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company
  • Passionate about choice in technology, open source, and Red Hat
