Job Description

Securly is looking for a Software Engineering Manager for our RD hub in Pune, India, to build new software and increase utilization with our current 11 products. The Engineering Manager role will be responsible for program delivery, technical leadership, and people management. You will lead a team of mid/senior engineers and architects. You will be responsible for prototyping, designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable SaaS-based cloud security and compliance and EdTech products.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who has demonstrated success in scaling teams, a successful track record of building large, scalable SaaS products, and is a creative thinker, problem solver, teacher, learner, and a fantastic manager of people.

Qualifications/Your Background :

• 10 years of software engineering experience developing cloud-based web applications
• 3 years of experience in managing a team of experienced software engineers and architects i
• Success growing an engineering teams size and technology skills/proficiencies that resulted in increased product utilization and product launches
• Experience with Python, Golang GO, C
• Experience with the productization of Artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) tech is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of web architecture, including protocols, DNS, networking, browsers, CDNs preferred
• Expertise in Cloud technologies / Amazon Web Services
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON
• Experience with SQL/No-SQL database technologies - MySQL, Redis, Elastic Search, etc.
• Ability to lead and influence team members to forge consensus on technical discussions, including architectural and design guidelines, code reviews, release process, etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both orally and written
• Robust software engineering - design, development, and testing, experience.
• Good understanding of design / architectural patterns and automation platforms.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies.
• Good experience on Requirement/Design/Code Review Inspections practices
• Good on Estimation Practices: Effort and Schedule
• BE / B Tech /MCA or equivalent

• Driving quality process and trustworthy computing initiatives throughout the product lifecycle to eliminate architecture, design, and coding defects at the source
• Responsible for ensuring performance, security, scale, reliability, operational, and cost optimization
• Communicating technical solutions to all levels within-group and cross-discipline status reporting and presenting solutions is an integral part of the job
• Ensure highly available services with zero downtime. Be responsible for developing and running the SaaS service in partnership with the SRE and operations teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews related to performance and scalability of products
• Produce high-quality software following good architecture and design principles that you and your team will find easy to work with in the future
• Ensure that you maximize the productivity of your team, especially by predicting and resolving obstacles and dependencies before they are needed
• Manage best-in-class processes for ensuring high quality and high uptime for the product developed by the team
• Manage day to day direction of Cloud Engineering development team
• Setting up engineering strategy for the team both from the technical and business operations side
• Ensure that all programs are delivered with agreed-upon business value, on time, and highest quality
• Managing a rapidly growing software engineering team of senior individual contributors and architect level contributors
• Contributing to talent hiring, people skill development, setting objectives and goals
