Job Description

    Job Summary
    • We are looking to hire a Business Analyst Digital Solutions to work in the capacity as an Individual contributor. This position is part of the Life Safety business that comes under the Critical Systems Division for Electrical Sector EMEA region. The primary focus of this position would be to understand the products from Emergency Lighting and Fire Systems domain that form crux of Life Safety business and work on projects and solutions that look to provide digital experience with these products. In this role the person would be needed to play the perfect bridge between the Product Owners / Marketing and Sales teams spread across the globe and the Software solutions team to provide state of the art digital solutions that spread across Mobile, WebApp and edge devices. Works closely with team mates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various EL facilities in EMEA for New Product Developments, Cost out, sustaining and application engineering projects. .
    Job Responsibilities
    • As part of the role of a Business Analyst primary responsibility would be to understand the current product lines prevalent in the Emergency Lighting and Fire Systems domains as part of the Life Safety business
    • Business Analyst would be needed to understand the various scenarios in which our products are deployed at customer locations and the respective users
    • As part of the role, there would be a need to understand these personas and define digital solutions for these product lines
    • Work with the product owners / marketing and sales and service representatives to understand various Use cases for the product lines and draw meaningful software / digital solutions requirements
    • Work closely with product owners to formulate a release over release plan for the digital solutions to ensure that development teams continue to deliver value to our customers
    • Work on sprint over sprint backlog grooming so as to maintain a healthy backlog for the development team to deliver
    • Work with development teams to ensure strong Acceptance Criteria are defined for every story / defect / spike that is to be delivered so as to ensure that the team delivers quality product
    • Work on user story / spike / defect prioritization along with product owner both during the sprint as well as across sprint so as to ensure team delivers on what is most important for product
    • Provide expertise and execute Functional validations as and when needed to ensure quality of the product
    • Utilizes DFSS & Agile concepts / tools for new product development &/or existing product improvements. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX for EIIC engineering community.
    • Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.
    • Champion DFX , Engg. Excellence deployment ensuring project health and contribute in planning per Pre-Prolauch requirements
    • Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.
    Qualifications Qualifications Education level required:
    • BE/ME in Electronics / Computer / Electrical Engineering.
    Years and area of experience required:
    • 10 to 12 years of design experience with Embedded Systems based product development.
    Technical Knowledge:
    • Should have minimum 3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or in similar roles
    • Should have sound knowledge in Embedded Systems based product development including cross functions like hardware, firmware, mechanical etc
    • Experience in edge devices and cloud development from a requirements definition perspective
    • Experience in working with Product owners and converting the business product requirements into meaningful system / software requirements in form of User stories
    • Expertise working as a BA or shadowing a BA for the lifecycle of at least 1 software / cloud development project
    • Experience in converting UX designs into meaningful Software development stories with detailed acceptance criteria that enable development team to deliver with quality
    • Experience with Software development tools like TFS, Jira, etc.
    • Experience with Requirements management tools like DOORS, Rhapsody
    • Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
    • Experience with Root cause analysis, non-conformity analysis is an added benefit
    • Experience with applying relevant IEC / UL standards to product development and validation
    • Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology would be an added benefit
    • Experience in Agile, ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes or equivalent product development cycles.
    Soft skills:
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking
    • Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain
    • Review and approve design proposals based on requirements /statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers

    • Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs
    • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders
    • Participate in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization s capability
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.
    • Manage and develop talent identifies, attracts and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
    • Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.
    • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas.
