Job Description

    EIIC functional excellence organization is aligned with CTO s strategy to drive One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence . The Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO s office, Electrical, and Industrial Sector businesses. These organizations will be responsible for developing and deploying One Eaton processes across all sectors and businesses across the globe.Lead Engineer of Digital processes within the Program Management functional excellence team at EIIC will be responsible for establishing and deploying practices and processes for Process Automation, Data Analytics, Dashboards, and reporting. Lead Engineer in this role will also be responsible for deploying and driving continuous improvement on these processes.The lead Engineer in this role will actively work along with other leads from the team of engineering excellence, engineering digitalization, operational excellence, and business teams across the organizations.Primary Responsibility :1. Digitalization Working with respective global focal to enable Digitalization to drive Program Management excellence, engineering digitalization, and operational excellence in business teams across the organizations. 2. Dashboard Drive Data Analysis & Automation within PM Excellence for the following deliverables: a. Work with the various internal and external customers of the data and dashboards to develop a detailed list of the required information. b. Organize & assemble information from diverse data sources in such a manner that the data aggregation is easily replicable and maintainable. c. Proficiently identify and apply the appropriate data analytics algorithm and come up with recommendations based on the insights generated. d. Report results in the form of various dashboards reporting measurement against targets, historical data trends, and data snapshots supporting the end customers data requirements. e. Strategizes new uses for data and its interaction with data design. h. Manage multiple projects and deliver results on time and with the requisite quality i. Strive to get internally and externally recognized in this area by continuously learning and developing project management standard works and dashboard reporting. 3. Lead / Mentor team towards implementation of digital/intelligent solutions for Program Management and Engineering Excellence and be involved and guide leads/specialists in their projects (multiple) 4. Drive digitalization and automation mindset in product development and engineering processes. 5. Developing and implementing automation systems based on engineering designs or prototypes produced by other engineers 6. Testing and debugging existing automation systems to identify and correct bugs or malfunctions in software code 7. Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing existing automation systems to ensure they continue functioning properly 8. Conducting trade studies to determine the feasibility of incorporating new technologies into existing systems 9. Developing new automation solutions by designing and constructing new systems or modifying existing systems 10. Coordinating with other members of engineering teams to ensure project goals are met 11. Providing technical support for existing automation systems by troubleshooting malfunctions and performing maintenance tasks 12. Develop test plans and scripts to ensure that the system under development meets design specifications 13. Creating programs that automate manual tasks to increase efficiency or productivity. 14. Drive Initiative organization in transforming existing Processes using the latest technology Other Responsibilities: -Creation, Publication, and maintenance of engineering information and process performances. -Show visible leadership and set an example by personal action in developing a strong learning culture in the team. -Strategy & execution leadership for enhancing collaboration & synergy across various engineering teams -Develop a high-performing, innovative, empowered, and accountable culture across the organization. -Build organizational capability and capacity of the team to execute strategy for the operational excellence team within the functional excellence group. -Develop and maintain relationships with global stakeholders, the technical community, and academia. -Continuous advancement of the capability. Drive digitalization and automation mindset in product development and engineering processes.QualificationsRequired: Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 9-15 Yrs experence. Strong understanding of organizational processesAutomation tools and systems and dashboard analytics are also important for this role. You have to oversee the automation projects that the team is working on, so they need to be able to manage their time effectively. They also need to be able to create and follow a schedule for the project and ensure that all of the project s goals are Hands-on on the experience of SQL and Share Points, PPM Systems Data Visualization: Exposure to data visualization techniques and tools i.e. Qlikview, Po,wer BI, etc Computer Skills MS Office, MS Project, knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system, O365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Over and above he should have the ability to work with complex databases, Tools, and systems with a strong understanding of system architecture and IT systems Coding: Coding is the process of creating software and automation scripts. As an automation Lead, you may not need to know how to code from scratch, but you should have a basic understanding of coding languages like VBA, Python, R. This can help you communicate with the automation team and understand the code they create also should have e passion to develop new algorithms is preferred.Process Management-Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done, knowing how to organize people and activities, knowing what to measure and how to measure it, Can simplify complex processes, Gets more out of fewer resources Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, Is excellent at honest analysis Looks beyond the obvious, and doesnt stop at the first answers Decision quality makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment Drive for results Critical thinking: Critical thinking is the ability to analyze a situation and make a decision based on the information you have. As an automation engineer, you may be required to make decisions about how to best implement automation processes. Having strong critical thinking skills can help you make the best decision for your company.
