Job Description

*Designation Lead Engineer-I / Lead Engineer-II Research Primary Objective of Position Provides technical expertise related to advanced electric machine technologies, products, materials, and processes such as brushed commutated and brushless permanent magnet motors. The position is responsible for concept development through prototype evaluation in realistic environment with related subsystems. Collaboration across engineering, operations, and customer engineering is essential.Job Responsibilities

  1. Technical
    1. Simulate electromagnetic performance of electric machines and associated components using commercial software packages and developing new tools when necessary
    2. Develop new test methods or systems in collaboration with test system engineering
    3. Work with operations and manufacturing engineering to investigate and develop new processes
    4. Work with vendors to develop material or equipment required for new products
    5. Assist customer with creation of product specifications based on product and technical knowledge
  2. Project Management
    1. Work as part of multifunctional team to support product development, participating in team meetings and reviews
    2. Lead and coordinate small teams for specific research projects
    3. Coordinate prototype construction and testing internally and externally with vendors and customers
  3. Develop domain knowledge in the team
  4. Assume additional roles and responsibilities as required
, *Job Requirements
  1. Master sdegree in Electrical machines & drives
  2. Must have minimum 8 years of electric machine research and development experience
  3. Knowledge of electric machine theory as applied to multiple machine types
  4. Knowledge of variable frequency drives
  5. Experience with commercial software used for development of electric machines. Examples include finite element software, modeling software based on equivalent circuits, and computational mathematics.
  6. Effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.
  7. Nimble learning learn quickly when facing new situations. Come up with useful ideas that are new, better, or unique.
