Job Description

Description and RequirementsFrom core to cloud to edge, BMC delivers the software and services that enable over 10,000 global customers, including 84% of the Forbes Global 100, to thrive in their ongoing evolution to an Autonomous Digital Enterprise.BU DESCRIPTION: BMC mainframe solutions draw on decades of expertise and innovation to leverage AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to achieve a self-managing mainframe.Key elements of a self-managing mainframe: Multivariate analysis, Predictive analytics, Root-cause analysis, Prescribed remediation, Intelligent automation and Built-in domain expertise.PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • You will require some knowledge of product domain, the software development life cycle and the process involved in product development and maintenance.
  • You will be working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Works across product lines with interaction of other BMC products.
  • You should be accurately able to estimates the size and scope of the development effort of projects.
  • Develops and tests product code according to BMC quality standards.
  • Able to manage a mixed workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development and product maintenance.
  • You should be able to clearly communicate to Support details about customer issues
QUALIFICATION:
  • Experience in designing and implementing mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment.
  • Strong experience in IBM Assembler (64 bit), JCL, VSAM, JES2, SDSF, ISPF.
  • Experience in Db2 z/OS internals and z/OS internals.
  • Strong Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills to include diagnosing SVC dumps.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • IBM Assembler (64 bit), JCL, VSAM, JES2, SDSF, ISPF
  • Debugging product issues and diagnosing SVC dumps
DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to participate in customer calls in high pressure situations to understand customer issues and provide workarounds and solutions.
