• Designing, implementing, and maintaining Java applications that are often high-volume and low-latency, required for mission-critical systems
• Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Understand, define, estimate, develop, test, deploy and support change requests.
• Writing well-designed, efficient, and testable code
• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
• Ensuring designs comply with specifications
• Preparing and producing releases of software components
• Transforming requirements into stipulations
• Support continuous improvement
• Interact with project and application stakeholders.
• Coordinate development activities with other teams, including business partners.
• Provide development status.
• Review requirements and ensure software is developed in alignment with Bank standards, best practices and performance requirements.
• Work with and influence bank-wide architecture, design & development and security standards.
• Identify and manage the impact of any faults or issues.
• Work with application, infrastructure, messaging and data teams to identify and resolve support issues.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience developing and delivering products in a collaborative, agile team environment
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented technology and standard Java development frameworks, including OOD and OOP skills
• Extensive knowledge of Java 8 and modern Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services, Spring Security, etc.)
• Experience in Microservices architecture
• Experience in REST API Development experience
• Strong Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience using Bamboo or any other CI/CD tool
• Experience in either Maven or Gradle
• PL/SQL, Oracle
• Java/JEE and Web based development experience, React JS / latest UI Technologies
• Experience with modern web application frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS etc.)
• Experience in using IDEs like Eclipse 3.x, IntelliJ IDEA
• Experience with pragmatically matching technical solutions to business needs
• Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with extreme programming (XP) practices (TDD/BDD, CI/CD, paired programming, etc.)
• Strong Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience using Bamboo or any other CI/CD tool
• Database skills of MS SQL, DB2
• Experience implementing a role-based security model and configure permissions and privileges
• Experience developing enterprise applications that support high traffic volumes
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (PCF, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Considerable development exposure to Unix, Websphere Message Queue (or Solace Message Routing) integration, Spring JMS, Spring Integration patterns
• Mentor and grow other software engineers
• Exposure of Financial Domain

Experience

• 10 years of overall industry experience
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
