Job Description

• At Eaton India Innovation Center, Center for Secure Cyber-physical Systems is currently seeking a Technical Manager API CoE to join our team! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune.
• API-CoE have main charter to define Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) consistently for Cloud Frameworks, Cloud/On-Prem Applications, Gateways and Eaton devices. It is archited in a way that it is suitable for both Eaton and 3rd party developers. For Eaton Digital transformation APIs are critical to reading and writing data at multiple locations in the technology stack of Brightlayer.

• As the engineering leader working closely with Eaton Brightlayer Platform teams in our center in India, you will manage a diverse team of talented Cloud develoeprs, Embedded developers, Test Engineers and DevOps engineers. You will lead the team by setting priorities and goals, ensuring the achievement of deliverables and other milestones, collaborate with other engineering and product teams in the company, establish a progressive work culture, and improve the way we deliver value to our customers. Your group will be part of a global organization focused on providing reusable technology platforms and services to Eaton product teams.

• Enable product teams with API design spaning Cloud, Gateway and Device solutuons.
• Establish Eaton wide API guidelines, API methods and tools to accelerate delivery of consistent, secure and high-quality APIs to their end customers - within Eaton and 3rd Party
• Create a team that is responsible for defining API standards, templates, guidelines and governance with a bias towards leveraging open source and industry standards such as openAPI
• Additional responsibility to create content standards for developer resources that reside within the developer portal including how-to documents and starter applications
• Establish governance using ProLaunch, establish Brightlayer API requirements for product teams (devices)
• Management experience in driving highly technical team.
• Can debate and propose solutions to situations involving both people and technical complexities.
• Develop business plans and proposals. Helps is framing strategies which are inline with current and foreseen business needs.
• Handle ambiguity with grace and shields employee from confusion.
• Maintains good and healthy employee satisfaction index and guide, coach on career path. Diversity inclusive in nature.
• Define Profit Plan with clarity, predictability and keeps the expense in budget.
• Handles the line management charter for the employees.
• Keep leadership well informed on progress and develop RoadMaps, Ownership/Accountability and present plan to work on gaps.
• Work in HR on attrition avoidance, timely recommendation on promotion cycles and succession planning.
• Regular 1:1 with employee, peers, managers, stakeholders, HR.
• Represent the team on global platforms and be a leader from front.
• Be part of review, planning and readout meetings.
• Evaluate business and technical requirements and identify new solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders, engineering and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems.
QualificationsRequirement:
• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• Preferred - Master s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15 to 18 years of design experience System Engineering (Cloud, Enbedded, Application, full stack)
• Prior experience as organizational leader for a minum of 5 to 10 years in globally distributed teams
• Experience leading organizations with at least 10+ members
• Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering, Agile development methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps, etc.
• Experience developing enterprise grade, highly scalable web-based applications and/or distributed systems.
• Experience coding languages in C++, C#, .Net, Java.
• Knowledge of cloud development platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Experience in Embedded Systems including RTOS and Linux based platforms.
• Understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
• Understanding of networking protocols and concepts (websockets, http, tcp, mqtt, amqp).
• Track record of demonstrated lauches of products.
• Proven digitally savvy leader experienced in delivering monetized IoT products and services to market.
• Experienced with software software estimation techniques, fieldbus protocols for industrial IoT products.
• Ability to work within matrixed environments.
• Proven track record of building and managing successful development teams.
• Expert level working knowledge of open source software, agile methodologies, design thinking techniques and ability to employ open, shared and saleable development principles within an enterprise.
• Empathizes and actively learns about customer s needs and how they create value.
• Builds relationships outside of engineering teams to understand, influence, and serve as their advocate.
• Demonstrated experience in building organizational capabilities around technology; developments high performing talent and builds succession depth.
