Job Profile SummaryThe Mechanical Design Engineering supervisor is responsible for a team of engineers who will achieve outlined goals to meet customer requirements for design performance, quality, and cost. Design & develop mechanically orientated components that fit in the megatrend activities. The role is varied and challenging. The supervisor reports to the megatrend design engineering manager located in Hengelo (NLD).Job DescriptionGeneral Responsibilities Leverages engineering fundamentals, and organization to make sound decisions on complex technical issues Detailed understanding of market and implications for business Present in meetings with updates on technical information with specifics on projects/schedules and timelines Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements and expectations, and developing/driving actions and schedules needed to support those program expectations Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer which influence design for manufacture abilityExperience / Qualifications A university degree and 10+ years of experience Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
