Position: Mechanical Projekt LeadLocation: PuneReporting to: Global Engineering Manager Carsten GirthWorks with: internal customers, vendors, cross functional leads, Supply Chain, Project Management, ApplicationsSummary of the RoleThe Mechanical Project Lead is responsible for the engineering and process design of our systems and leading our standard engineering projects. This includes supporting and collaborating with our Sales and Service department.In this position you will be responsible for the development of engineering and process solutions for our systems within the framework of predefined goals. You will develop, plan and follow the processes (internal/external) necessary to design, manufacture and deliver our systems to our customers on time, on budget and with the specified quality with our partners (suppliers).This position requires managing, controlling and leading our standard projects but also building a supplier network together with the Supply Chain and Quality department. This will always involve ensuring project objectives are met and monitored in terms of deadlines, quality and cost/pricing.The Mechanical Lead shall also have the ability to share work experience and expertise with other team members and work globally with the other sites and colleagues. As a technical expert/coach, the Mechanical Lead shall act as a point of contact within the team to develop the organization by coaching both internal and external partners on their daily work and critical technical issues that require specific knowledge and experience in the field.Specific Responsibilities that you would own:

• Ability to design filtration systems or equivalent on the assigned projects to meet customers expectations in product design and project execution quality.
• Ability to fully understand the projects specifications, customers expectations and to set up the correct and required design directions as well as to find the technical solution in problem areas.
• Ability to read and understand all related technical documents and ability to check the technical documents created by others
• Ability to detect, understand and manage technical project risks using appropriate tools for risk analysis and set up the required technical counter measures
• Ability to communicate w/ customers and suppliers
• Ability to manage related scope of work to achieve on time performance of all deliverables to the customer, suppliers and internal.
• Ability to manage Engineering changes that may come up during the course of the project including all related information and communication / agreements w/r to cost/time impacts.
• Detailed understanding of filtration separation and purification technologies used in the processing (Direct flow filtration, cross flow filtration, stabilization)
• Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for designing, manufacturing, testing and documenting food and beverage process equipment.
• Experience of working with CAD Systems
• Experience in qualification activities (FAT/SAT) for process equipment in the food and beverage or equivalent industry.

Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc or equivalent in Mechanical engineering, Process engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience of process engineering of equipment used in Food & Beverage, Chemical or Biophamra industry
• Proven track record of having lead and successfully executed various complex projects within Food & Beverage industry or equivalent.
• Experience of working on projects in various cultures.
• Experience of working with outside subcontractors including mechanical fabricators, electronic fabricators, Software designers and automation experts.
• Fluent in English (Spanish and German are differentials)
• Advanced level expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word.)
• Experience with SAP

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, CAD files, tooling specifications, and electronics material specifications.
• Advanced verbal communication skills, including negotiation and influencing.
• Experience in the design and engineering of process equipment for filtration, separation and purification equipment
• Experience of working on projects in various cultures.
• Experience of working with outside subcontractors including mechanical fabricators, electronic fabricators, Software designers and automation experts.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, supervisors, vendors, and employees.
• Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
• Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
• Miscellaneous: (e.g. hold a current driving license, have a passport, be prepared to travel abroad, etc.)
