We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.Introduction:As a Production Engineer you will use a hybrid of development and operate skills to collaborate across disciplines, applying software engineering principles to eliminate repeated manual effort (Toil) and create automated, scalable and reliable services. Actively contribute key initiatives on Operational engineering, Observability engineering, Service Risk engineering and Resiliency engineering to ensure production stability and SLA adherence to our data consumers. The E2E support includes ensuring Application management, service availability, platform stability and service management.What will you be doing The focus of this role will be to establish engineering discipline within IB Front Office Risk & Pricing and data GTSM and drive the agenda throughout the department whilst supporting the wider team objectivesComplex issue triage, investigation and coordination to closure including leading triage on major incident callsReview of release documentation, implementation plan and provide sign-off for changes.Collaborate with other technology partners - Development/Business Analysts/Testing/Infrastructure teams on upcoming changes and maintain a 30/60/90 day view trackerResponsible for onboarding/decommission/migration of services/platforms and coordination of corresponding changes into application suiteResponsibility to own, maintain and track operational guides for support, knowledgebase, runbooks, SLA/OLA documentation, upstream and downstream contactsReview and automate operationally expensive tasks and manual work(frequent batch failures, reporting requirements, etc)Drive Incident/Change/Problem management improvements across entire suite of applicationsCollate data for Proactive Service Improvement Initiatives, SLA/OLA performance, Application/Platform stability.Periodic review of open issues impacting production services/platforms with RTB Lead.Participation in Monthly Service Reviews, Service Governance meetings with vendors and Development teams, Major Incident Review meetingsReduce MTTR throughout the department (Mean Time to Repair) and improve stabilityAccountable for preparing & executing Resiliency Tests, Capacity and Backup/Recovery plans.Co-ordinate with Auditors (internal & external) for completion of audit controls.On call support, weekend working and ad-hoc overtime as appropriateDrive the adoption of Automation and role model how this can be used to drive efficiencies, consistency, reduce MTTR and achieve our objectivesWhat we re looking for:Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or any equivalent.5+ years of relevant experience managing Level 2 application support and operations in financial institutions, consulting or technology companiesPractical experience of supporting and maintaining production environments with distributed systems and highly available servicesWorking knowledge of IT Infrastructure components (for example Linux/Unix or Windows Server OS, MS SQL or Oracle Databases, Networks, Load Balancers, Storage, middleware - solace)Practical experience of Observability/Monitoring solutions (such as AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, Splunk, ELK/elastic or similar)Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines and Repositories, for example Jenkins and GitHubHands-on/technical experience in Scheduling tools like Autosys, Service Management Tools (ServiceFirst or other)Knowledge of Lean Control Process and various stages of Agile change life cycleGood understanding of service resiliency and high availability.Strong vendor management skills, able to drive vendor deliverables as per standard SLAs & KPI, should be able to provide professional feedback on vendor services to IT stakeholders.Strong Project management and Senior Stakeholder management skills.Experience with ITIL concepts and best practices.
