Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include predictive analytics, data visualization and business intelligence software.Senior Data Engineer, Data & Services Technology TeamAs a Senior Data Engineer on the D&S Technology team, you ll hold a valued role within a rapidly growing team inside one of the worlds most successful organizations, working closely with experienced and driven data engineers to solve problems as a team. Mastercard D&S next generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies to face these problems, analyzing terabytes of data in the process. Our software is required to effectively decipher analytically complex insights from these problems, on which businesses base multi-million dollar business decisions. As a member of the Business Operations Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the acquisition, integration and transformation of data pulled from internal tools and systems to drive forward the Insights & Enablement group which helps us make better, faster decisions using data, analytics and technology.Data Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing data ingestion workflows. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work the best for that team and their projects.Enjoy large scale data challenges Come solve them with us.Position Responsibilities:As a member of the Business Operations Engineering team, you will lead and participate in data management aspects of internal reporting to drive value to our Delivery, Sales, Marketing, Engineering teams and beyond, as well as contribute to and foster a high-performance collaborative workplace.As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:Lead projects through design, implementation, automation, and maintenance for large scale ETL processes supporting multiple business unitsLeverage industry best practices including proper use of source control, participation in code reviews, data validation and testingImplement best practices in Data Governance to ensure the data is available, usable and secure according to internal policiesBuild trust-based working relationships with peers and clients across local and global teamsAct as a technical resource within the team and regionPlay a lead role where you oversee the activities of other Data Engineers on the team and ensure the efficient execution of their dutiesIdeal Candidate Qualifications:Superior academic record with a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research) or related technical fieldStrong written and verbal English communication skills Expertise with Relational Database Management systems and technologies, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server and the SSIS stack. Experience with Alteryx is a plus.Ability to easily move between business, data management, and technical teams; ability to quickly intuit the business use case and identify technical solutions to enable itAble to balance multiple projects and differing project prioritiesFlexible to work with global offices across several time zonesProven self-motivated leader with experience on small project teamsDue to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
