Job Description

NVIDIA is looking for a world class Database Administrator (DBA) to join its IPP - Infrastructure, Planning and Processes team. The position will be part of a fast-paced crew that develops and maintains complex build and test environments on platforms including MySQL, Elasticsearch and MongoDB. We are looking for a candidate with background of 8 years experience in Database Administration to manage our build and test DB infrastructure. Key responsibilities will include maintaining existing DB infrastructure, incident management, capacity management, enhancements and working with multiple teams in problem/issues solvingWhat we need to see:

  • 8 years of working experience in DBA activities
  • BE, MCA preferred
  • In depth understanding of MySQL DB architecture and management
  • Strong experience with recent versions of MySQL (5.7,8.0)
  • Hands on experience on MySQL DB - standalone, replication, DR and HA/cluster solutions like NDB, Innodb, Percona XtraDB, Galera etc
  • Should have experience on NoSQL technologies like Elasticsearch/MongoDB/Cassandra
  • Can ensure health, performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Handle backup and recovery procedures
  • Be able to perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development/operations team
  • Provide Production/Preproduction deployment and support
  • Handle critical database procedures such as upgrade, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Be able to write shell/python scripts for automation
  • Have good understanding of DB security and practices
  • Monitor DB infrastructure and able to do the performance tuning (server level, query etc), parameter tweaking wherever required as applicable
  • Prepare documentations and specifications
  • Should be able to work in a diverse team so good communication and collaboration is must
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Strong experience and working knowledge in MySQL architecture and management
  • Hands on experience with designing, implementing, maintaining the MySQL database replication, DR, HA/Cluster solutions
  • Working knowledge with other SQL/NoSQL database management such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Oracle, Cassandra etc.
  • Proficient in optimizing SQL parameters and queries
  • Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes so should be good in scripting Shell/Python/Perl
  • Experience in containerization like docker, Kubernetes etc
  • Good working understanding of code versioning tools
  • AWS RDS, Oracle MDS experience is plus
  • Knowledge on chef, puppet, Jenkins is plus
