Job Description

  • Mechanical Engineer who can demonstrate the technical and operational excellence that can drive innovation.
  • Apply state-of-the-art technologies to solve real-world challenges. Candidate must work simultaneously on projects in different phases; while demonstrating robust design and validation skills.
  • In this position engineer will work closely with the Program Manager, Multi discipline Engineering, Certification, Sourcing and Manufacturing personnel to design the products in an organized and expedient fashion. This Mechanical engineer will be responsible for leading the project and meeting the overall project schedule.
  • Define requirements and design new electromechanical products in collaboration with the product software and electrical engineering teams
  • Selection of material, Design of LED housings and the interfaces in accordance with UL/IEC standards,
  • Housing design to accomodate LED Driver, Battery Management, LED boards and controls with optimum thermal management Generate modular and rationalized design to accomodate multiple SKUs within product family
  • Quickly prototype new products for proof of concept study
  • Develop and execute robust test plans
  • Collaborate with a skilled and accomplished cross-disciplinary team to conceive and design innovative technologies.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive key aspects of technology solution definition, execution and validation.
  • Expertise in design calculations
  • Expertise in designing PDC componenets DFM&A
QualificationsRequirement:
  • Masters Degree + 7 years experience OR Bachelors + 9 years experience - Mechanical Engineering/ Product design
  • Basic Skills
  • 7+ years of experience working on developing new products, using new technologies, and taking new approaches to solve common problems.
  • Experience in the following areas: Requirement capturing, Concept generation, Detail designing with attention to details, execution of NPI with phase-gate approach
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Product design and validation experience.
  • Experience with design tools: Solidworks 3D modelling, analysis, MathCAD, SAP/Enovia.
  • Knowledge of NEC/IEC codes and standards; Safety compliance processes and requirements.
  • Familiar with test equipment and methods.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects
  • System-level integration experience
  • Proven experience with full-cycle product development experience from inception through maturity
  • Special Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with designing LED luminaires, battery backup
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving product test non compliance issues
  • Experience with product certification, specifically UL or equivalent certifications
  • Basic knowledge of electrical enginering and intigration of components
  • Understanding of DFSS tools and techniques
