Job Description

*Job Objectives

  • Candidate will work on IIoT relevant S/W product development, will play a key role in Industrial automation Team and will drive IIoT Activities and Initiatives.
Organizational Position
  • Senior/Lead Engineer- IIoT will report functionally to Technical Leader, FLMC Embedded systems leader at Emerson Innovation Center- Pune.
  • To help accelerate the availability and maturity IIoT solutions related to FLMC Valve products. This role will be responsible for evaluating end devices and solutions. Duties will include the development, maintenance, and execution of a system. The role will also include ideation and prototyping of solutions using popular IoT platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Understand Project / Work Scope, plan and deliver quality output / deliverables to meet the expected schedule and timeline
  • Understanding IoT Project Requirements from Requirement Specification Document.
  • Ideation and prototyping of mostly LPWAN-based but not limited IoT solutions for various market verticals by integrating IoT end devices to popular IoT software platforms
  • Execution interoperability tests and analysis of the end device s compliance with the different protocol
  • Troubleshooting device communication issues related to customer software and hardware
  • Writing summary reports of test results and communicating, Creating and maintaining defect reports
  • Enhance and confirm Specification Document form IT perspective with respect to product and project guidelines
  • Periodic Interaction with IIoT Engineering Managers through Verbal & Written Communication
  • Closely coordinate with other departments and stakeholders
Additional InformationPosition is for Pune location and Candidate will work closely with team in Pune, *Requirements
  • Bachelor s in Engineering Programming/ IT/ CS/ Electronics/Instrumentation or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in programming and S/W development
  • Familiarity with common Linux and Windows operating systems and general commands
  • Requested software knowledge:
    • GIT
    • DOCKER
    • Node-Red
  • Enhanced experience in at least one out of the following programming languages:
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • C / C++
  • Access to and/or existing knowledge of IIoT relevant communication protocols:
  • OPC UA
  • MQTT
  • HTTP / REST
  • Appreciated additional knowledge:
  • IT Architecture and Networks
  • PLC Knowledge
  • HMI Knowledge
  • Fieldbus
  • Data Science
  • Data Security
  • UX Design
  • Solid understanding of software development fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of data networking and security concepts
  • Quality Assurance background is a plus
  • IT background with a focus on network troubleshooting is a plus
  • Understanding of RF-related communication protocols is a plus
  • Conversant with MS Office Software tools such Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Good Lateral Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Willingness & motivation to improve IIoT relevant IT/technological skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of scoping with international stakeholders.
  • Undertakes work in an efficient and timely manner.
