Build your career with us and apply today.MAIN DUTIES: Northern Trust Enterprise Middleware Service team is looking for a messaging system engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot the bank s rapidly expanding IBM MQ and Solace messaging infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage all environments (Development, Testing and Production) of IBM MQ/solace
  • Install, configure and provide support for functional and performance testing of additional features of modern messaging system.
  • Work with application developers in POCs to design solutions with novel and advanced product features
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Provide 3rd level support to MQ/Solace systems
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
SKILLS & EXPERIENCEQualifications:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • Minimum of 5 years of IBM MQ and Solace administration experience
Skills sets
  • 3+ years of experience with messaging API developer support ( JMS, dotNet etc.)
  • 3+ years of architecting, designing and administration of IBM MQ including Pub/Sub
  • Knowledge of IBM MQ with RDQM preferred
  • 3+ years of architecting, designing and administration of Solace
  • 3+ years of scripting for deployment and configuration
  • 3+ years troubleshooting unexpected IBM MQ and Solace problems
  • 2+ years of experience with DevOps and Anisble automation skills preferred
  • Prior Java programming skill is a plus
  • Knowledge of Kafka messaging system is a plus
