Sr. Engineer Sourcing

Job Description

• Identify Suitable suppliers for Pall s F & B business globally. Important commodities include Skids, tanks, vessels, piping, instruments, fittings and valves in steel as well as plastic MOC.
• Developing international suppliers and working on international projects.
• Assessment of Suppliers on various parameters.
• On boarding of supplier in Pall s ASL (Approved Supplier List).
• Support Sales team in Pall s bidding process by providing best costs through suppliers.
• Solicit bids from vendors, review vendors responses and coordinate with the discipline engineers to clarify queries for compliance with requirements, perform pricing analysis, and recommend contract awards that result in best value procurement.
• Prepare commercial bid evaluations, conduct commercial negotiations and conclude on techno commercial requirements.
• Draft, handle and negotiate all commercial matters pertaining to Purchase Orders. Obtain award acceptance from bidders. Perform pre walk on checklist to make vendors understand the scope.
• Handle and negotiate variations and claims arising after placement of orders. Locate and source with alternate vendors in case of problems with primary vendors.
• Ensure goods are shipped on-time, requested date, On Time Delivery (OTD)
• Handle shipments with the freight forwarder and ensure that all shipping documents, bill of lading, certificate of origin, etc. are correct for smooth movement of materials.
• Develop Project Procurement Plans and manage the execution of them.
• Ensure materials are purchased at or below the budget / standard cost to drive material savings and enhance the as booked gross margins on our projects
• Utilize advanced negotiation concepts to fully maximize our material savings potential
• Implement pricing agreements as required with key suppliers.
• Manage and control material master data.
• Improve working capital by extending payment terms and procuring materials Just In Time (JIT) to meet project requirements.
• Work with accounting department in resolution of invoicing issues.
• Identify, evaluate and monitor risks to PALL related to selection of alternate vendor proposals
• To ensure the commodity strategy is applied in supplier selection.
• Select and qualify suppliers as per the corporate processes and tools and coordinate with Quality Department,
• Maintain existing vendor relationship and initiate potential new vendor relationship Continuously improve supplier performance and relationships through a documented and quantitative Supplier Evaluation Program. Be the principal contact for all commercial and contractual matters.
• Goods receipt in system after proper confirmation
• Handling Free issue material to suppliers. Co-ordinate for Shipping and logistics of material.
• Handle other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Specific Responsibilities that you would own:
• Sourcing & Procurement activities to Food & Beverage division.
• To identify, assess and develop suitable suppliers for F & B business globally and working on global projects. Onboarding Supplier to Pall AVL.
• Develop a local supply base and the appropriate relationship with the suppliers that supports the overall goals of the business.
• To achieve the best terms and conditions of Purchase of all 3rd party supplied product and services.
• To manage the order execution supplier negotiation, supplier selection, supplier management and performance review, placing purchase order and managing OTD. To report on these and related subjects to the Sourcing management, and regional management.
• To ensure that all purchasing related activities are carried out in accordance with PALL purchasing policies and procedures.
• Undertake and or contribute to ongoing Sourcing initiatives to improve the competitive position of Pall in its chosen markets.
• To support the Ops Team for OTP and on budget execution of projects
• Maintain business relationship with the suppliers that supports the overall goals of the business
Qualifications:
• BE-Mechanical / Production with minimum experience of 06-10 years in Sourcing activities in project industry and worked in international environment.
(Preference: Sourcing & Procurement experience of Food & Beverage or Biopharma systems, etc.)Position Competencies (must haves for the position) :
• Good verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to work in international environment.
• Should be capable to handle multiple actions to meet the on-time demand.
• Should be ready to travel
• Team player who is able to drive and deliver results under pressure
• Strong commercial acumen
• Proficient in MS office computer applications like word, excel and power point
• SAP experience
• Experience in handling international Projects. Understanding of import and export and international shipping transactions.
