Job Description

    The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.We believe information is everything! The team is always looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who are self-motivated in their work and careers.What you will be doingImplement and customize the Veritas NetBackup IT Analytics productPropose, design and develop complex reporting and alerting solutions as well as custom integrations with external systemsOwn the delivery from customer requirements to working solutionTroubleshoot and resolve data discrepancy and query performance issuesWork closely with customers, Product Management and the broader IT Analytics engineering teamMinimum Required Skills include:MS/BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field of study with 5+ years of relevant experienceStrong working knowledge of complex databases (Oracle preferred)Query optimization skills and knowledgeTools knowledgeSQL Developer/TOAD/ and other SQL Dev toolsJira and ConfluenceWorking knowledge of CRM Ticketing integration (For Alerting -> Ticketing). Example: ServiceNowExperience with NetBackup, OpsCenter or IT AnalyticsDesigns, develops and maintains high quality code for product components, focusing on implementation.Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patternsSkills with Office Application Suite Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPointKnowledge of operating Systems: LINUX/UNIX Object Oriented Language Agile ProcessStrong problem solving and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenExperience with IT DevOps and writing custom reportingCustomer Success mindset and a desire to engage directly with customers to solve problemsAbility to take customer requirements and turn them into functional reportingDesired Skills include:Full understanding of file systems, storage and cloud technologies, emerging standards and engineering best practicesExperience in Agile development methodologies including unit testing and TDD (test-driven development)Working knowledge of delivering into cloud based environments using standard CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Spinnaker, SonarQube) and best practicesKnowledge of cloud IaaS/PaaS and Microservices design a plusAbility to collaborate with various teams to implement innovative and viable solutions for commercial product and internal tool user interfaces,
